You’re living in a dream world. You’ve raced at Watkins Glen. Zipping through the Esses is at 130+ miles an hour with no sight lines. You got exactly what you wanted in this race track and now you complain. Your credibility equals zero. The Glen has much better sight lines through the Esses than anything that was displayed in Saudi Arabia. The Glen has elevation changes that provide additional sight references. You are completely full of it. The WG Esses are totally blind, zero forward view. In fact most of WG is blind. You can't see more than one corner ahead, if that, and completely dependent on flaggers/light panels for warnings. Elevation changes are no help, in fact in some places, like coming out of the Toe or through the Esses or around the Off Camber Left, it hurts. Same goes for many tracks around the world. Zero sight lines. This track gave you exactly what you wanted. Your credibility is now less than zero.

Hell, I've watched ALMS and IMSA races at Mosport, a track a lot faster than Watkins Glen in those types of car and it's sight lines from onboards are just as bad if not worse. But the drivers love Mosport.

Max is clearly over driving a car and not doing a very good job at it.
Fred needs to be in the discussion, the performances in those Ferraris were amazing those redbull were head and shoulders better than what he had and he took it to them in 2010 and 12.
I really thought max was turning the maurity corner this year but the last few races he threw all that out the window and turned back into the max of the last few years. Someone needs to sit him down and get his head straight, I was hoping that's what was going on during the second red flag but clearly that didn't happen

Max is clearly over driving a car and not doing a very good job at it.... Max has won 8 races this season. If he didn't over drive he probably wouldn't have won any. Lewis has the significantly faster car right now. All Max can do is try every trick he can think of to get ahead of Lewis.

Huge Fernando fan here, and I 100% agree a couple of his Ferrari seasons were among the greatest ever for a driver ... but what's the discussion he needs to be in? Going to RBR?

That Qualy lap was heading to be one for the ages until that last corner. The way Fernando and Danny were glued to it told me a lot about what they think of what Max is doing with that car.

Oh wait, when Lewis wins it is because of the car and when Max wins it is because of Max. I forgot; sorry. As per policy, you completely don't understand what I'm talking about. At some point you should really do some track driving or maybe even head to a karting track to understand what racing is all about. When the Mercedes was behind on pace midway in the season Lewis over drove and we saw the mistakes he and the team made as a result. Anyone who's going to win the WDC in a yin and yang season like this needs to overdrive the car at certain points and take significant risks to maximize results. But in the end the faster car is always going win no matter who is driving or over driving it. Lewis has the significantly faster car right now and has had it for the past four races. Thus he has won three and is probably going to win them all.

To clarify, he has been over driving more recently similar to the last few years. Once Merc got back on top he started doing more dive bombs and more high risk low reward maneuvers.

And in the afternoon, he would win the GP. Have there been other drivers like him since? Maybe - Andretti, Lauda, a few other (some American drivers too.) Today's drivers are slaves to the engineering. If the engineering talent is great with a team, and the car is suited to their style of driving, a partnership can be formed between team and driver, and Mercedes and Lewis have a such a partnership.'

The way I perceive it, a modern F1 driver can not fully understand what is going on with the racecar ' system' at any particular moment without the assistance of their race engineer and the telemetry at the disposal of said engineer/'s. The cars are just too complex with so many inter-dependent systems: ERS/MGU's K & H etc. * As mmi16 recently suggested only half-joking?: "Bring back the Cosworth DFV".
