I haven't looked at the track but I cannot imagine there is much elevation change! There is, a surprising amount. A bit under 30ft, and it's up and down the whole way. Like a mini rollercoaster.

Hopefully Pirelli has scratched off that false "Full Wet" tire designation.
Maybe they should call it "Moist" "Damp" or "Clammy" tires.

Seriously though there are limits to everything, and racing in the wet on one the the fastest tracks on the calendar takes extra precaution. If it was a street track they'd probably would have raced. But Spa has too many fast corners, long straights and places where water streams across the track. If anything we should blame Liberty for jamming so many races in one season as to not leave an extra day to hold a Monday make-up race, not gonna even get started on the 3 week lay off.

F1 opts against DRS use on Zandvoort bankingFormula 1 drivers will have an even tougher time overtaking at Zandvoort than originally anticipated, with the FIA electing not to allow DRS use through the final banked corner.F1 chiefs had originally proposed the idea of a banked last turn in a bid to offer a much longer period of full-throttle running than the original configuration allowed. With passing places extremely limited on the narrow circuit, it was felt that this design would at least give a chance of some action. Computer simulations show that the flat out banked bend should add another 340 metres of flat out action – on top of the 678 metres of straight that follows. The banking was made so extreme – with a profiling of 32 percent, the equivalent of 18 degrees – to give drivers enough load through the corner to run with DRS open. However, for the inaugural Dutch GP this weekend, the FIA has elected to play it safe and will only allow DRS to be opened after the corner. Circuit chief Jan Lammers said on Wednesday: “That is the decision of the FIA. The lap with Max reminds me of a smaller Silverstone. Lots of fast corners and not so many places to pass.

I believe it's 17-18 degrees, excellent half mile short track banking. The now defunct Mesa Marin in CA was 17 degrees, iirc. Fast as hell.

That's what happens when you sell off your circuit piece by piece like Zandvoort did 30 years ago. There's a housing development where the old last turn and about a third of the front straight used to be.
