I don't particularly like Max, but I do always like to see a driver win his home race. And he drove a perfect race. In his early years, I didn't particularly care for his attitude and uncontrolled aggression, however as with most youngsters they mature and adjust accordingly. He has and is the only current foil to Lewis, so i cheer for him, this season's champion.

Really cannot grasp the mind of Bottas. A driver that is so compliant that he'll do anything they tell him even when it's not in his best interest as he's halfway out their door. He holds the power to 'give' Mercedes those precious constructor points - - or not, and he could easily exercise that option, but he continues to comply to their every whim. It's hard to respect a man like that. Russel will do well to just assert himself in the strongest possible way with Lewis; take no prisoners. Fight him tooth and nail or become Bottas v2.

3600mm is still a land yacht. It's 141 inches. For comparison, a crew cab dually long bed is about 165 lol.

Several great drives yesterday. Max taking Merc's best shots, Alonso going from P9 to P6, passing Sainz on the last lap & holding off Perez, Perez getting in the points, Gasly P4.
Good stuff.

I would think that screwing your current but soon-to-be-former employer in such a public way would endear you to your future employer. Especially if when you are in contract discussions two years from now.

I finally realized what that track reminded me of. Oregon Raceway Park. Not identical, for sure, but a track without any major elevation changes while also rarely being flat. And fairly relentless. And some banked curves. I've never driven this track but it looks fun. In the middle of nowhere.

Bottas has shot his wad in F1. He will never again be in a team as high as Mercedes and he will just be marking time before he leaves the sport. He's had his best chance to demonstrate just what he was capable of in F1, and 2019 was to be the year in which he believed he could beat Lewis and become world champion. But it fell apart, and so did his self-confidence. Lewis by way of Toto exploited it and ever since, he's become the 'wingman', the 'doormat'. Every team in the sport is acutely aware of this. Were he to exploit his own power within that team before he leaves, it would at least garner some respect from his new team and potential others before he leaves F1 altogether. You have to have some measure of 'Balls' in F1 to thrive, unfortunately for him they are not so big.

Absofuckinglutely! Think of the titans of the sport. Senna, Prost, Lauda, Piquet, Schumacher etc. etc. These were no 'shrinking violets'. If Russell has the ability, he absolutely needs to take it to Lewis in the harshest manner. Stomp him and stamp his own mark on him. Alpha wolf and all that.

Is there a time Hamilton does not bitch and moan on the radio? Only when it's not transmitting. I wish just once the Team would come back on the radio and say 'what do you want to do?'.

Only when it's not transmitting. I wish just once the Team would come back on the radio and say 'what do you want to do?'. They tried that once. It didn't work out so well ...
When Mercedes "screwed up" Hamilton's race in Monaco Over the course of Formula 1's hybrid era Mercedes has rarely dropped the ball, but the Brackley team did just that during the Monaco Grand Prix six years ago today, denying Lewis Hamilton a near-certain victory.
