Especially if when you are in contract discussions two years from now. " Bottas has shot his wad in F1. He will never again be in a team as high as Mercedes and he will just be marking time before he leaves the sport. He's had his best chance to demonstrate just what he was capable of in F1, and 2019 was to be the year in which he believed he could beat Lewis and become world champion. But it fell apart, and so did his self-confidence. Lewis by way of Toto exploited it and ever since, he's become the 'wingman', the 'doormat'. Every team in the sport is acutely aware of this. Were he to exploit his own power within that team before he leaves, it would at least garner some respect from his new team and potential others before he leaves F1 altogether. You have to have some measure of 'Balls' in F1 to thrive, unfortunately for him they are not so big. boiler said; "So prison and F1 are basically the same thing? Find the biggest guy on your first day and punch him in the throat?" Absofuckinglutely! Think of the titans of the sport. Senna, Prost, Lauda, Piquet, Schumacher etc. etc. These were no 'shrinking violets'. If Russell has the ability, he absolutely needs to take it to Lewis in the harshest manner. Stomp him and stamp his own mark on him. Alpha wolf and all that. Hamilton showed repeatedly when paired with Alonso, Button and of course Rosberg that he can not handle mentally when another driver on the same team can put him under pressure. Rosberg got in his head really badly.
