Veekay will be at ECR, replacing Jones. Bank it!
Ganassi will run a 4th car for Askew, at first few races including Indy. Good chance.

Zak Brown says Hinch is driving for McLaren despite RM and Marshall Pruett wearing their tin foil hats and stating otherwise.
Oliver Askew on McLaren's short list for the second car. Decision on a third car for Indy coming shortly (Alonso, duh?).

Really inconsistent with their reporting and act like Indycar can do know wrong.

Pat O'Ward splits with Red Bull. All Arrow(s) point to him returning to Indy Car. 😜

Pruett's podcasts are much like his articles on Racer....very long winding. He is a good guy but he drags things along sometimes. I do like his interviews with drivers and team members from Indy Car.

Michael Cannon, Ferrucci's engineer this past season, has left DCR and joined Ganassi to be Dixon's engineer in 2020.

He is adamant that McLaren is only hanging on to Hinch because they want to offer Hinch back to Honda in exchange that the get their buyout (from breaking SPM's Honda contract) with Honda reduced or wiped clean.

McLaren to announce O'Ward and Askew as their drivers for 2020. Hinch is out.
Not sure where Hinch lands. Honda spent a lot of money to keep Rossi in their camp. Will they underwrite part of a third Rahal entry?

Thanks for the update.
But where will Wickens go once he gets the all-clear.

I know a lot people are upset about what happened to Hinch but the reality is, imo, he hasn't been putting up the results lately. Racing is performance and results driven. I haven't seen too many results out of Hinch the last couple of seasons.
O'Ward is pretty exciting driver and Askew is pretty promising. It is good to see McLaren give these two young pups a chance when a team like Penske never goes this route.

I haven't seen too many results out of Hinch the last couple of seasons. I've been a Hinch fan since he started out (OK after he got in his sister's dog dryer). I don't think he's been the same since the accident. I hope I'm wrong, maybe he needs a change of scenery.

RM and Pruett saying Honda of Canada won't be able to pony up for the third Rahal entry. Rahal is asking for a lot of money. He will need additional funding. Gonna be tough. Kind of late to be thrown to the unemployment line. Wouldn't be surprising if he is relegated to an Indy 500 one-off. I know at Mid-Ohio, his people were meeting with other teams about next season. His only options are Rahal and maybe Coyne, if Dale decides to run a third car.

A incident like Hinch's will take the fine edge off your skills. At the top levels, the difference between winning and not winning is that fine edge of the skills.

Those two teams are still being reported on as possible seats. A lot depends on whether he's still in Honda's camp, and how much they are $upporting him.

Marshall Pruett has an article up at Racer detailing what is next for Hinch.
Rahal is, probably, his only Honda option now.
Rahal says he needs $6 million to run a full time car.
Honda has informed all parties that it can only provide half of the required budget. Rahal and Hinch would have to come up with the rest.
Dale Coyne expressed interest, primarily, since Ferrucci has not re-signed yet. With news that there might be competition for his seat, Ferrucci is expected to re-sign with Coyne in the coming days.
There are options with Chevy but those entries require a similar budget to Rahal and Hinch would lose 3 million in support if he left Honda.
Rahal not, from indications, going to run a part time program. Has to be a full time effort to justify the acquisition of new equipment and hiring of new employees.
Hinch's contract is being honored by McLaren. He will be paid for next year as long as Hinch doesn't opt out and sign with another team.
Had O'Ward not been released by Red Bull, Hinch would have remained. However, McLaren and Hinch would have likely parted ways after 2020 season.
Most prime seats are locked up until after 2021.
