So, no consistency. Just as I expected.

Maybe, just maybe, after this season the FIA will seriously consider installing a permanent set of stewards for every race. The present system can only be described as "quaint".

I doubted Max would get a penalty at his home track. At least it’s nice to know Merc isn’t going to run the table this year.

They need a race control like Indy Car. The same guys travel to and officiate every race. You don't have a different "guest steward" at each race. You don't have Emmanuel Pirro at one race, Tom Kristensen at another, Derek Warwick at another, etc.

My take away thus far is the folks who claimed they were already done watching this season writing away on this message board in fine detail about this race. P.S. Yeah you. I resemble that remark. That's okay, no one believed you anyway...

That's in keeping with having three officials on the panel with voting power, as an odd number will preclude any chances of a 50/50 deadlock vote. Problem is that at least one of the officials on the panel with voting power also changes with every race.
And if I remember correctly, the ACO/FIA officials' panel for Le Mans had like 6-7 officials on it, though I think that almost all of them are permanent for the WEC season.

Inconsistency your name is FIA. Agreed, this just makes a bad situation worse...

Inconsistency your name is FIA. Agreed, this just makes a bad situation worse... Yes, especially when you consider this, Rosberg getting 5 secs for the exact same thing. Maybe the FIA should keep incidents like that on video file so the stewards can refer to them to see precedent. Still, none of us like seeing wins taken away. Perhaps the answer is instead of a penalty today when there isn't time to impose it on track, to just give them a grid spot penalty next race and a points reduction. They do need to prevent drivers from just pushing their way past.

So - racing has been permitted at this race! Will we have any more 'races' where racing is allowed?

So some people are more upset that consistency wasn't kept over awesome wheel to wheel to wheel racing being allowed today?
