Will it be postponed with everything else?
What would Buck have thought about this mess?😥

What would Buck have thought about this mess?😥 That thought crossed my mind as well... Buck struck me as a very level headed fellow, so I suspect he would have found all this as sobering as most of us do... My best guess is that the 500 might be be a close call, but will likely be cancelled...

Does IndyCar dare have Indianapolis be the first events of the season like Nascar does Daytona?

^ Alternatively, would they dare and try re-schedule it...?

Does IndyCar dare have Indianapolis be the first events of the season like Nascar does Daytona? Doesn't look like they are going to have much choice this year. Remember Penske will be calling the shots not the Hulman Company and Tony George.

Entire schedule is jumbled. M-O is now August 7 thru 9.

At this point I'll be happy if they actually get the 500 run to completion any time this year.

Not sure why they needed to keep the two week format of Indy seeing that everything else surrounding the event has pretty much been scrapped. Wrecking the remaining schedule creates some headaches for fans attending the previously scheduled August events. Should just have Thursday practice, pole day on Friday, bump day on Saturday, hour warmup on Sunday morning, and race Sunday afternoon.

What if overseas travel is not opened up by August? That means, gulp, no Alonso. Maybe Jimmie will take his place!😃 BTW, the schedule looks like practice, Wednesday and Thursday, fast Friday, pole day on Saturday, and bump day on Sunday. No carb day soooo why do we need two weeks? I mean these rookies are only going to have three days of practice anyway, practice they would have received during a normal three day event. How much practice do they need? 4 hours not enough? Texas is probably scarier than Indy and they aren't getting the same program for rookies.

Unfortunately, I have reached the conclusion there will be no racing this year. This shit is not going away. Flattening the curve. JFC we will be in lockdown well into June, maybe July. China ruined 2020 for everyone in the world. Motherfuckers....consequences. They need to pay for this dearly. The entire world needs to make them pay.

Unfortunately, I think you're right, about the racing. And about China. They should return to the pariah status they held before Nixon.
But we should offer them plenty of old soy sauce packets to help them choke down whatever debt of ours they hold while they eat it.
Fuck 'em.

Today would have been the 104th Indianapolis 500. (I was off by two-three hours).

Kind of surprised nobody has brought up Penske's plan to stage this race at 50% capacity. That would bring the potential crowd to over 100K? Yeah, good luck with that! I hope it happens but I would not hold my breath. Not with the way people are losing their minds right now. I know they can't wait until a week before the race to make a decision but it may still come down to that anyway.
So, anyone posting here planning on attending or have you taken IMS up on a credit towards the 2021 Indy 500?

I’m not going because I don’t want to be around people in general right now. It’s doubtful that I even go next year or in the future. I had plans for Iowa and Gateway too but I’m not going.
