FWIW, it was the most watched sporting event in Sunday and one needs to keep in mind that most pro sports started back up with good ratings but most have declined since returning except for....the PGA which is crushing it. NBA ratings have been gradually tanking since Michael Jordan retired. Their ratings have been quite pathetic since they returned to play in their bubble.

There were some outlets predicting record ratings prior to the race but I honestly don't know many who had any idea the race was going on this past Sunday. Monday morning, no one where I work even mentioned it or talked about it. From my perspective it was all over the news, but with a quick mention of Sato winning before showing the Pigot crash and updating his condition.

...I honestly don't know many had any idea the race was going on this past Sunday... ^ This I agree with that and it’s why I figured the rating would be way down. The 500 is a Memorial Day tradition, not a dog days of summer tradition. All in all, the rating isn’t s bad as it could have been.

I'll stay with my reversed washer in the cylinder bore theory until they know for sure it was a pinched or kinked line. That would be very odd, and that washer is EZ to reverse.

I agree it wasn't the same with it not being Memorial Day. At this point I will take what I can get and glad they got the race in this year.

Something in the assembly of the brakeing system was amiss. No doubt, but a pinched or kinked brake line near the master cylinder? That would be very rare indeed I would think. It would have had to have been damaged by one of the mechanics, and I cannot imagine a mechanic sending a car out to do 220 mph with such a condition knowingly.
