25% attendance for 500 now. Another few weeks it will be near zero.

Yeah, I saw that. I am still not totally convinced that Mid-Ohio goes off with fans next weekend. Things are getting sketchy here. DeWine shut down county fairs for rest of the summer (basically rest of year), yesterday. Lot of speculation that bars will be shut down today. As for Indy, I think it goes no fans or canceled. Fall is really looking bleak. How much of this is science and how much of this is politics is the big question.

Yes, Indy draws a big crowd but with most sporting events these days, the money is made on television.

So, not sure what they will do if told they can't have fans on 8/23.

I will be surprised if fans are allowed now. I would not bet against the 500 running but I would not bet against it running behind closed doors either.

Indy 500 to be run behind closed doors. No fans in the stands.

I predict this will be the last race of the year, sadly.

I predict this will be the last race of the year, sadly. St. Petersburg is the last race!! But seriously, I agree with you. When they rescheduled St. Petersburg I knew it was wishful thinking and I have been saying all along that Indy would only be run without fans.

Green/Savoree promotes both St. Pete's and Mid-Ohio and they made it clear to Indy Car over the weekend that they would not run an event behind closed doors. They can't make any money doing that. IMS is special. The tv contract and sponsors pivot around the Indy 500. It is probably the one race that can hold it's own without paying spectators.

At least they're still racing. We'll have a 500.

There isn’t a snowballs chance in hell St. Petersburg happens and it was foolish to reschedule it in the first place. I think Indy will end up being the final race of the year.

So, it is looking like 33 entries. Although Robin Miller is saying 34-35, it appears 31 confirmed with a third Dale Coyne car and the Dragonspeed car will fill out the field. Robin must be thinking Juncos, Carlin with a second car, and Top Gun are going to show up. Maybe Robin did not get the memo...
Juncos doesn't even have an aeroscreen installed on their car. Juncos told Marshall Pruett that it is a near zero percent chance they show up. Carlin has already said they will focus all their attention on Max Chilton and not run a second car. Top Gun doesn't even have any equipment or cars to run.
Who will be the drivers vying for the Dale Coyne and Dragonspeed entries? Oriol Servia has said he is close to having the budget to run. Jonathan Byrd who pulled out due to the corona said he would help James Davison get over the hump if he was short on funds but it wouldn't be a lot. Ben Hanley drove for Dragonspeed last year but Elton Julian seems to be looking for some money. Not sure who is all out there. It doesn't appear like Sebastian Bourdais will be running for anyone which is sad.
