Be interested in seeing if Top Gun links up with Dragonspeed since RC Enerson does have funding. However, Elton Julian does seem to stand by his own drivers like Ben Hanley.

Stef Wilson lacks funding but said he would give up the prize money to race. Seeing that a typical arrangement sees a driver getting 40% of the prize money, he would have to finish well up in the top 10 to make this a doable proposition. Don't see any teams doing this.

Jonathan Byrd and Belardi Racing will join forces once again with James Davison to drive the third Coyne entry. James Davison is pretty solid at Indy. He was doing really well a few years back until his teammate (Pippa Maan) crashed into him.

Dragonspeed and Ben Hanley announce entry. Field is at 33 and there aren't likely to be any additional entries. Indy Car also announced that there would be no last row shootout.

Oriol Servia would probably be the first reserve driver for a team if they need to replace their driver.

Top Gun is out. They had two sponsors in place and a deal in motion with an existing team to lease cars and equipment. RC Enerson apparently had a seat fitting, last week, but the sponsors pulled out after it was announced that there would be no fans. Sponsors also, from the sound of things, wanted assurances they would be in the field. No guarantee with 34 entries. Finally, with purse cut in half, the team wouldn't have gotten any money in return to justify all the expenses. They will try again in 2021.
Me thinks the team was Dale Coyne since Enerson had driven for them before and the car went to James Davison a couple of days ago after Coyne became really interested in Davison's limited funding out of nowhere. Initial deal was dead but Coyne suddenly wanted to make the deal with Davison work.
This also makes me wonder how much funding Oriol Servia actually had. Obviously, not enough to make anything happen.

First day of practice and nobody has any comments ???????????????? Ohio State Football is more important. It is just practice. I was watching some of the practice on NBCsports Gold when I got home from work. Hinch was fastest at over 224. Alonso was 5th quickest at 223. 33 cars, no one is going home. All this practice seems like a waste of time to me.

Alonso's consistent usage of the little concrete bit in the turns bit him today.

There are two kinds of drivers at Indy. Those who have hit the wall and those who are gonna hit the wall. Alonso is now a member of the former.

I can't remember, did he? Was that the debacle about the spare being at some local body shop being sprayed the wrong shade of orange?
