Kevin Mills Racing wasted no time into having their 1st signing for their team title defense. The GB4 team have signed Pembroke Hills, Florida native Jeremy Fairbairn for their 2023 season. Before driving for Crosslink Kiwi Motorsports in the USF Junior series, Jeremy's achievements came from karting after winning the 2018 SKUSA SuperNationals XXII - X30 Junior class and finished 3rd in the SKUSA Pro Tour - X30 Junior. Fairbairn would later jump to open-wheel in the US Formula 4 series, the fall British Formula Ford Festivals and the Canadian Avon Tyres series. This 2022 season in the USF Juniors would only yield 1 3rd place podium, 2 top 5s and 7 top 10 finishes enroute to finish 6th in the series. www.gb-4.net/news/2022/nov/18/jeremy-fairbairn-joins-reigning-gb4-team-champions-kevin-mills-racing

As much he struggled with his season, underdogs are always Die-Hard drivers. For Brad Benavides: staying in Spain was worth it just to chase the dream. The 2023 season for Charouz now aligned with ADAC German team PHM will have the Miami native who will team up with the oldest driver in the field - Israeli Roy Nissani as he will have another chance in the FIA Formula 2 ranks. Despite a poor showing in the post season test, there is nothing to lose. www.fiaformula2.com

Colin Queen just kept busy for his 2023 season. The Cota De Caza, California native and Team USA alumni will join Fortec GP for the 2023 GB4 season. This 2022 season, Queen won a shootout between the top three teenagers from BRSCC National Formula Ford 1600 this year that took place at Snetterton in Fortec’s GB4 cars. It earned him £20,000 to be put towards a season in MotorSport Vision’s Formula 4 series. After several years spent in karts in America, Queen was eighth in the standings for Low Dempsey Racing in his first National FF1600 season in 2021 and runner-up with the team under its new name of Ammonite Motorsport this year, winning four races and the Triple Crown - 1st for an American. He also won twice in United FFord, finishing third in the championship after skipping the final round. www.gb-4.net/news/2022/dec/7/shootout-winner-colin-queen-joins-fortec-for-2023-gb4-challenge

The New York native and McLaren development driver will join Prema once again as he becomes from guest driver to regular scoring driver. The teenager raced for Prema in select ADAC and Italian F4 rounds this year, with his primary programme being British F4 with Carlin. I doubted this driver that he would not recover, but Hunter Yeany is determined to get another US driver into Formula 1 in the future. The Virginia Beach, VA native, and 2020 US Formula 4 champion will now join his 3rd team where he joins Carlin for the 2023 FIA formula 3 campaign. Yeany is coming of from mid-season surgery after suffering a fractured wrist in the Sprint Race at the Red Bull Ring this past summer where he missed 2 race events and is coming off from a scoreless season with Campos. www.fiaformula3.com/Latest/3SulqreK5kdHclrPQRUEEm/yeany-switches-to-carlin-for-2023-campaign

Born American. But Colombia licensed. And speaking of Sebastian, the son of 2-time Indy 500 and Formula F1 race winner Juan Pablo Montoya will join Hitech GP for the 2023 FIA Formula 3 season. Montoya spent two years in F4, making the podium 12 times but never winning a race, before stepping up to Formula Regional last year with Prema. He won twice in the Asian championship for the Mumbai Falcons team it supports, then came 13th in the European championship. Late in the year he also made a starring F3 debut with Campos Racing at Zandvoort. His presence in the Red Bull Junior Team was confirmed earlier this month when he signed with Hitech to race in FRegional Middle East, and ended months of speculation that he would become a Formula 1 junior again – having briefly been supported by Ferrari during karting. www.fiaformula3.com/Latest/7iKDoRHOqsHzMOLJBx3wJP/hitech-grand-prix-confirms-sebastian-montoya-for-2023-season

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cpau_CGNLa9 Sub-par performances were on the right direction for our US contention this past week in the F1 ladder series at Bahrain. In the FIA Formula 3, the best performer of the weekend was Potomac, Md. native Kaylen Frederick who made a small rally from his disastrous Sprint race to post a 7th place finish in the feature. Another best performance was Sebastian Montoya who managed to score top 10s in both races with a 10th in the Sprint and a 9th in the feature. Gabriel Bortoleto scores the win in the feature followed by Oliver Goathe and Dino Beganovic rounding the podium. Gregiore Saucy and Luke Browning sealed the top 5. Frederick posted a 7th place finish. Montoya with a 10. Virginia Beach, Va. native Hunter Yeany scored a P22. Pepe Marti was the winner in the sprint with Franco Colapinto and Caio Collet taking the final podium spots. Beganovic and Paul Aron completed the top 5. Montoya also scored a P10 for his efforts. Yeany only reached to P22. Frederick's potential for a top-10 weekend ended on lap 13 where he suffered a puncture classifying him to P28. After Round 1, Bortoleto recovers from a sour Saturday to take a 3-point lead over Goeth (26-23). Beganovic ends his weekend in 3rd. Marti and Saucy into the top-5. Frederick is in a 3-way tie for 9th. Montoya is tied for 12th. Yeany is classified 24th as the grid will travel for their Australia event-debut. www.fiaformula3.com/

Enzo Fittipaldi posted P8 for his efforts with Barbados driver Zane Maloney in P9 with Correa in 10th. Houston native and RBR development driver Jak Crawford made huge efforts to finish P14. Miami's Brad Benavides ended in 19th. In the feature, Pourchaire begins his quest for the title with the win.
