The US contention in the FIA F3 series was not good or fortunate for the 2 representatives at Monaco. Potomac, MD. native Kaylen Frederick would only take P24 in the Sprint and a P25 in the Feature. Virginia Beach, VA native Hunter Yeany could only post a 27th in the Sprint and a P20 in the feature. Pepe Marti is the eventual winner in the Sprint with Leonardo Fornaroli and Gregoire Saucy taking podium honors. Franco Colapinto and Taylor Barnard round up the top 5. Sebastian Montoya takes 2 more point with a P7. Gabriele Mini held a late charge from Dino Beganovic for the win with Paul Aron snatching the final podium spot. Luke Browning and Gabriel Bortoleto held their top 5 finishes. In an unexpected error, Montoya was given a 10-second penalty that would have placed him with a P28. But was disqualified for having a left tire in the wrong side during pit stop service. After 3, Bortoleto holds a a 17-point lead over Mini (73-56) with Saucy a distant 3rd. Beganovic and Aron hold top 5 positions. Montoya's DQ drops him to 12th. Frederick drops 1 position to 15th. Yeany stays scoreless as the series shifts Northwest to Barcelona. www.fiaformula3.com

Our US contenders in the FIA F2 and F3 series were totally bull-horned this past weekend at Barcelona and was pretty. During a rainy Saturday, Houston native and Red Bull Development driver Jak Crawford saw his weekend dented by Sprint winner Frederik Vesti in 1 turn after suffering left-front suspension while Miami native Juan Manuel Correa ended his his Saturday in the beach after taking slicks just as the rain was easing. Vesti came as the eventual winner of the sprint race with Theo Pourchaire and victor Martins rounding up the podium. Dennis Hauger and Jack Doohan with their top 5 finishes. Enzo Fittipaldi finishes with a P10. Miami's Brad Benavides could only capitalize a P16. Despite sun, it did not make a difference with Correa finishing P11 after his detour in the gravel in the last turn with Crawford taking 13th. Oliver Bearman takes the feature win with Fittipaldi and Martins taking steps to the podium. Ayumi Iwasa and Vesti end their weekend in the top 5. Benavides was the final car to finish. Heading to the half-way mark, Vesti continues to command the points lead over Pourchaire (110-99). Iwasa follows in 3rd. Bearman and Hauger round up the top 5. Crawford drops 1 position to 15th. Correa keeps steady in 18th. Benavides yet to score with the series move on to the Red Bull Ring. www.fiaformula2.com

Apparently for the US contenders in the F3 series at Barcelona, it was also rough. Potomac, MD Kaylen Frederick was not very sub-par finishing near midfield with a 14th in the sprint and a 17th in the feature. Virginia Beach, Va., native Hunter Yeany was not fortunate with a P16 in the sprint and a DNF in the feature. Zak O'Sullivan takes his maiden win in the sprint with Luke Browning and Leonardo Fornaroli taking their podium finishes. Series points leader Gabriel Bortoleto and Paul Aron rounded the top 5. Sebastian Montoya had another worst sprint with a P26 after taking a turn 1 short-cut on the escape route thus handed a 10 second penalty. Pepe Marti takes the spoils at his home race with Franco Colapinto and Dino Beganovic earning their podiums. Bortoleto and Aron repeat their top 5 performances. Montoya earns a 7th for his efforts. With 5 rounds to go, Bortoleto holds a 24 point lead over Marti. Beganovic drops to 3rd. Gabriele Mini and Aron round up the top 5. Montoya remains steady in 12th. Frederick drops another to 16th. Yeany is yet to score. But will take a 5-position grid drop to the Red Bull Ring due to a collision with Rafael Villagómez on Lap 10. www.fiaformula3.com

https://www.instagram.com/p/Ct7GYb1rWqz This past weekend, Ugo Ugochukwu's weekend came from catching fish to getting them unhooked in the Italian Formula 4 series as his Cathedral became a haunted house. The New York native and McLaren development driver could only managed 1 2nd place podium after 2 sure wins have slipped away and a possible dream to take the series title where series leader Arvid Lindblad completed his hat trick at Monza. This past weekend had a huge series of track limit violations. And Ugo Ugochukwu was part of them. After the race 1 event review, Ugochukwu knew what it was coming. Track officials confirmed that Ugo was caught violating track limits and overagressive passing in the last 2 laps after a safety car period. That resulted a 20-second penalty ending his race 1 in 25th. Thus handing the win to Lindblad. Brando Badoer and Tuukka Taponen completed the podium positions after the penalty. Kacper Sztuka and Alfie Spina rounded the top 5. Miami's James Egozi equaled his best result with an 8th place finish. Lindblad would take his 2nd win with Ugochukwu taking a 2nd place finish after Sztuka was caught with track limit violations in race 2. Badoer completes the podium. Sztuka and James Wharton rounded the top 5. Egozi was forced to retire during a safety car period with mechanical trouble. Lindblad fought hard with Ugo for the win going nose to tail in race 3 before Lindblad and Ugochukwu rubbed wheels at Curva Grande sending Ugo around 170 degrees. It enabled for Lindblad score his Monza sweep. Sztuka and Akshay Bohra rounded up the podium positions with Rashid Al Dhaheri and James Wharton rounding up the top 5. Egozi posted a P20 for his efforts. With 3 events to go, Lindblad increases his lead to 69 over Ugochukwu with Wharton closing in in 3rd. Szutka and Zachary David round up the top 5 in the point standings. Egozi remains steady in P16 as the series heads to Paul Ricard. www.f4championship.com/

I was streaming this morning the Formula European Regional Championship to follow the results of Houston native Enzo Scionti at Spa-Francochamps. In short: He suffered a retirement in race 1 this past Friday and P27 in race 2.
Rafael Camara and Andrea Kimi Antonelli were the winners for the 2 events.
But the weekend was completely marred by the death of Dutch driver Dilano Van ‘T Hoff who was killed at the Camel Straight on the last lap. This happened during wet conditions and poor visibility.
Our hearts to the Van 't Hoff family. It is the 2nd tragedy at Spa since the death of Anthoine Hubert in 2019.

As much the racing community continues to reflect the loss in the racing community, it is time for more results. This past weekend, Jak Crawford went all in for the tires of his choice during the FIA Formula 2 series. The Houston native and Red Bull Racing Junior Driver made the gamble by opting slicks in moist conditions with the assist of Safety Car periods to take his maiden F2 win in the Sprint race after earning his reversed-grid pole position at Red Bull's home soil in the Red Bull Ring. At the start of the sprint, Crawford confronted a challenge from Arthur LeClerc who had wets on before taking the point in the reace right before Jehan Daravula spun in turn 7 that resulted to get the SC out on track. 2 laps later, the SC came out again after Richard Verschoor lost a wheel that close the gap again. With the track drying up, A. LeClerc surrendered the lead to Crawford to get slicks before the re-start on lap 8 where Crawford and Juan Manuel Correa ran a brief USA 1-2. Crawford was also saved by a Virtual Safety Car period after Enzo Fittipaldi spun in the grass (In which ended his day) that enabled to keep his distance fore his maiden Formula 2 win. A very 1st for a US driver and the 1st since 2015 when Alexander Rossi won the last Formula 2 race at Abu Dhabi (A series formerly known as GP2). Victor Martins and Isacc Hadjar would take podium positions with Miami's Correa scoring his best result in 4th. Roman Stanek rounded the top 5 after Clément Novalak was disqualified for technical infringements thus losing his P4 as a result. Miami's Brad Benavides posted a P12 in the sprint. The feature race was not fortunate for Crawford. At the start, Crawford had a bump'n run where he lost 9 positions. Crawford opted to stay out while making up the positions he lost before heading for pit service that enabled him to take a top 10 finish Verschoor capped his weekend with a Feature win, dedicating it to Dilano Van T'Hoff, with Ayumu Iwasa and Frederic Vesti taking podium. Jack Doohan and Oliver Bearman rounded the top 5 ahead of Fittipaldi. Crawford climbed back towards an 8th place finish. Correa and Benavides were the last 2 cars to finish. With 7 round completed, Vesti takes a 20 point advantage over Theo Pourchaire. Iwasa and Bearman stay steady in 3rd and 4th. But Richard Verschoor climbs up to 5th. Fittipaldi drops to 8th. Crawford climbs 2 spots to 13th. Correa stays steady in 18 with Benavides yet to score as they head North to Silverstone. www.fiaformula2.com

In FIA F3, another bust has struck Kaylen Frederick despite scoring points this past weekend at the Red Bull Ring. The Potomac, Md. native was unable to hold his positions during the reversed-grid start that resulted a 7th place finish. Paul Aron was the eventual winner in the Sprint with Gabriele Mini and Caio Collet scoring podiums. Zak O'Sullivan and Jonny Edgar round up the top 5. Sebastian Montoya posts a P9 finish. Virginia Beach, Virginia native Hunter Yeany took P19 for his efforts. In the feature race, a possible scoring chance for Frederick went south after colliding with Pepe Marti damaging his front wing in the process that resulted a P26 finish. O'Sullivan took the feature win over series points leader Gabriel Bortoleto. Fellow countryman Collet finished behind him. Colapinto and Dino Beganovic rounded the top 5. The Sunday for Montoya and Yeany got worse. Montoya was struck with an unavoidable contact violation with Colapinto. It resulted a 10-second penalty that dropped him from P10 to P20. Yeany was penalized for track unsafe entry. What would have been his best finish suddenly was dropped from 13th to 21st. After 6 rounds, Bortoleto continues to hold his lead with 111 points while Marti and Beganovic are in a tie for 2nd with 75 points each with Marti holding the tie-breaker with 3 wins. O'Sullivan and Mini round up the top 10. Montoya sits in 12th, Frederick drops another position to 17th with Yeany yet to score as the series heads to Silverstone. www.fiaformula3.com

Rodin Carlin have just brought Max Esterson for the next FIA Formula 3 rounds for Silverstone and Budapest while waiting for the next GB3 rounds (Unless he is a Formula 3 keeper). The Good: The New York Native, 2 time Walter Hayes Trophy and Formula 3 will be replacing "The Bad"(And possible goodbye to ) Virginia Beach, Va. native Hunter Yeany. It will be undetermined whether Esterson will be kept in the new series due to Yeany's lack of passing. Esterson's GB3 season is currently on break until the end of the month when he will return to Silverstone with Fortec Racing. He is currently in 14th on that series. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cudm-YmNyAJ A new series has emerged for the Italian Formula 4 drivers. This past weekend, Ugo Ugochukwu did not disappoint his employer Zak Brown in this 3-event series The Euro 4. This past weekend, the New York Native and McLaren F1 development driver took 2 wins out of 3 at Mugello it is 1st series event of the season. But both wins were on technicality due to safety car periods. In Race 1, Ugo's hard earned win was done at the last lap after passing Kacper Sztuka before running away for his race win in the new series with Akshay Bhora joining the podium. Arvid Lindblad and Nicola LaCorte wind up the top 5. Race 2 was also done after safety car period. But this time, Ugo hammered his afterburners on lap 4 leaving Akshay Bhora in his mirror taking his win with a 1.12 second margin with James Wharton, Lindblad and Zachary David wind up the top 5. No safety car was involved in race 3 as teammate Wharton kept Ugo in check to take the rubber race. Sztuka took the final podium spot. Ivan Domingues crossed the line in 4th. But Lindblad was classified 5th due to unsafe driving. After round 1. Ugochukwu takes a 20 point lead over Wharton in this new series with Bhora in 3rd. Apparently it did not go well with Houston native Enzo Scionti as he struggles to score his championship points in the Formula Regional European series at Mugello. And neither is Emmerson Fittipaldi Jr despite scoring his best result with a 14th place. Scionti was penalized for track violations that dropped him from 19th to 21st. Martinus Stenshorne was the race 1 winner with Andrea K Antonelli coming home in 2nd and Tim Trammitz sealing the podium. Kas Haverkort and Joshua Dufek round up the top 5. Race 2 belonged to Antonelli with Rafael Camara taking the runner-up spot. Stenshorne and Santiago Ramos came to the line with Stenshone finishing in P3 right before colliding with Ramos who was classified in 4th. Havekort rounds up the top 5. Stenshorne leaves Mugello with a narrow 2-point lead over Antonelli (154-152). Trammitz stays steady in 3rd. Haverkort climbs to 4th with Camara steady in 5th. Emmo Jr. and Scionti once again with a little shot at it - no points as they head to France to the Paul Ricard Circuit at Le Castellet. formularegionaleubyalpine.com/

It was 1 of the roughest and unexpected debuts for Max Esterson. The New York native could only complete 1 race posting a P24 in his Sprint race debut in the FIA F3 series at Silverstone under sub-wet conditions. But his feature ended too early after losing his engine. Potomac, MD. native Kaylen Frederick did not have any luck either. Frederick posted a P22 in the sprint and a P19 in the feature. Franco Colapinto conquered the wet and moist track for his 1st win of the season with Gabriel Bortoleto and Christian Mansell taking podium honors. Caio Collet and Gabriel Mini rounded the top 5. Sebastian Montoya posted a P8 with the last point. Oliver Goethe also recorded his maiden win in the feature. Leonardo Fornaroli and Pepe Marti scored their podiums with Paul Aron and Mansell taking top 5 positions. Montoya scored the final point in 10th. With 3 rounds left in the season, Bortoleto continues to hold his lead over Marti (124-92) with Mini and Aron in a tie for 3rd (77 each). Dino Beganovic drops 2 spots to 5th. Montoya drops 1 spot 13th. Frederick tumbles to 18th with Esterson unable to score as the series heads Southwest to the Hungaroring. www.fiaformula3.comIn an update: Virginia Beach, VA. native Hunter Yeany was dropped from Rodin Carlin. We wish him the best of luck on his endeavors. This time depending on where he goes next.

Also at Silverstone: The US drivers in the FIA Formula 2 Championship were also plagued by wet conditions during qualifying. And the results were drenched. For Houston native and RBR development driver Jak Crawford was the best highlight after leaving Silverstone with a P10 in the feature. But could only finish P14 in the sprint. Miami natives Juan Manuel Correa and Brad Benavides did not had any luck. Correa's weekend ended with a P14 in the sprint and a P11 in the feature. Benavides sprint race ended too early at the start. But made up his best stride with his best feature finish in 13th. Points leader Frederik Vesti took the sprint win with championship rival Theo Pourchaire right behind. Jack Doohan takes the final podium spot. Enzo Fittipaldi and Isack Hadjar pick up top 5 finishes. Victor Martins turned his "Fear Factor" Sunday to a fear conquering win over Zane Maloney. But Martins had to overcome a 5 second penalty for track limits where he passed Ayumu Iwasa. But in the end Martins finished 7.05 seconds ahead of Maloney in which was enough to take the feature win. Pourchaire slithers closer to Vesti in the points with a 3rd-place podium after Vesti was bumped at a re-start that ended with a front-damage suspension. Doohan and Iwasa rounded up the top 5. Enzo would finished 7th in the feature. With 5 to go, Vesti keeps his narrow lead over Pourchaire (135-129). Iwasa and Oliver Bearman stay steady in their positions. But Martins climbs 4 spots to 5th after his feature win. Enzo finishes his weekend in 8th. All 3 US drivers stay steady in their positions with Crawford in 13th, Correa in 18th, ad Benavides yet to score as they head to the Hungaroring this upcoming weekend. www.fiaformula2.com

https://www.instagram.com/p/CvF0D_FvTtQ It was a small break through for the US contention. But there were breakthroughs and special moments. My Chicago homeboy Bryce Aron managed to somehow cut his distance with Noel Leon in the Euro Formula Open series after taking a race 2 win along with a 3rd place in race 1 at Paul Ricard after he stalled on the start. But Bryce's major rival Noel Leon took a detour after his collision with Francesco Simonazzi in race 1. Japanese driver Juju Noda took the biggest spoils after earning her 1st Euro Formula series win and a 1st for a woman. Jakob Bergmeister and Aron took the final podium spots with Cian Shield and debutant Vladislav Ryabov taking the top 5 spots. Aron's performance in race 2 was a total runaway with Shields and Simonazzi taking the final podium spots. Noda and Bergmeister took complete the top 5. Shields took the final race of the weekend after Aron struggled again during the standing start with series points leader Noel Leon taking 2nd with Noda taking the final podium spot. Aron and Simonazzi seal the top 5 finishes. At the halfway point, Leon's lead over Aron is cut by 17 points (201-187) with Shields knocking on in 3rd. Simonazzi, and Noda complete the top 5 as the y head back west to the Red Bull Ring. www.euroformulaopen.net

The New York native and McLaren development driver would only take a 2nd place podium in race 1, a 3rd place podium in race 2 and a 5th place finish in race 3 even despite a session of safety car periods. The weekend belonged to Kacper Sztuka who scored the hat trick. The 3rd race was based on James Wharton when he suffered a defective fuel pump on the last lap. Despite of his defective part, Wharton manages to cross the line in 2nd. Race 1 results were Sztuka, Ugochukwu, Wharton, Tuukka Taponen, and Miami native James Egozi taking his maiden top 5. Race 2 results were Sztuka, Taponen, Ugochukwu, Lindblad, and Zachary David. Egozi crossed the line in 7th. Race 3 were Sztuka, Wharton, Taponen, Brando Badoer, and Ugochukwu. Egozi was unable to finish due to a puncture. With 5 rounds complete, Lindblad secures a 60-point lead over Ugochukwu. But with the sweep, Sztuka closes on Ugochukwu by 3 points. Unfortunately for Enzo Scionti, his future in Europe motorsports is looking bleak in the Formula European Regional Series at Paul Ricard. The Houston native would only managed a P29 in race 1 and a P24 in race 2. Same with Emmo Fittipaldi Jr who also finished outside the top 20 with a P22 in race 1 and a P21 in race 2. Alessandro Giusti took the win in his home track along with Sami Meguetounif taking runner-up in a France 1-2 finish. Martinius Stenshorne took the final podium spot with Tim Trammitz and Andrea Kimi Antonelli completing the top 5 positions. Race 2 belonged once again to series leader Antonelli. Esteban Masson and Trammitz lock up the final podium spots. Stenshorne and Giusti round up the top 5. With 4 rounds to go, Antonelli escapes with a 6 point lead over Stenshorne. Tramnitz is in a distant 3rd with Kas Haverkort and Rafael Câmara locking in the 4th place battle. Fittipaldi and Scionti once again with no points as they head west to the Red Bull Ring. formularegionaleubyalpine.com/
