Yeah, but he was in a rush to detour though Colombia on the way back home from Mexico to scout for another GP venue. Talk shit while looking for the next mark, Little king Bernie taught him well.

They have a 'team' willing to spend millions of dollars, euros etc to be in F1 and they throw it away like they just don't care

They have a 'team' willing to spend millions of dollars, euros etc to be in F1 and they throw it away like they just don't care They (Merc, Ferrari, etc) don't want a real team added to the grid. They just want more useless, "happy to be here" backmarker fodder like Haas.

Andretti is a RACING organization who have been 'making money' in racing for the past decade or more.

Nobody wants their slice of the pie from Liberty diluted, nor do they want a team that could possibly take points away, and the more teams there are the less influence the bigger ones wield when things need to be voted on.

To my mind it puts the ball in Liberty's court. Does Liberty WANT more than 10 teams or not? Does Liberty WANT a potentially competitive American team in the game? Does Liberty want a name in F1 that might be second only to Ferrari in recognition by the North American audience? Does Liberty want a 'real American' team involved in the THREE events to be held in the USA in the coming years?

They see no value in any of that, and what happened with Porsche shows how the people they do value can and will end up.

Yep. It's all about their own narrow interests and not about what's good for the sport. Business as usual.

I agree. But Toto and others will pitch a fit and FOM will roll over. The LM & new FOM guys are all pussies.

If "Alfa-Bits" is getting replaced by Audi in the future, will Andretti pick up the slack as their power unit?

Liberty views HAAS as an american team and the euros like having them in 7th or 8th. IF Haas could get a real sponsor instead of Gene havng to pay out of pocket they could be a decent midfield team as AM,Williams, Alpine Alfa and even AT are just meh.

They're fine with Haas as their 'American' team (despite the fact that Haas doesn't even move the public awareness needle here in the US), because in seven years on the grid, they've averaged P8 in the WCC. In those years, they've finished P10 once, P9 twice, P8 three times, and P5 once. Their best result was the outlier P5 back in 2018. Haas is the 'token American team'. Haas is a joke.
