Interesting read and nails it. Manufacturers race for many reasons other than RACING. Enzo (Ferrari), Bruce (McLaren), Frank (Williams), Dieter (Red Bull), Jack (Brabham) and oh so many others that built F1 into what it has become were in racing for the SPORT of racing and hoping not to go broke doing it. Manufacturers only enter F1 to make money or to build their reputation - when they are not winning they are losing money and damaging their reputation; when that happens they make business decisions, not sporting decisions. For F1 to tie its star to manufacturers is a road to ruin. Better to have the Garagista's and Coventry-Climax competing against Ferrari and the other 'sporting' manufacturers (BRM etc.)

^ F1 essentially killed any hope of an independent engine supplier years ago, and the age of "Garagista's" died decades ago. The closest thing we have to that now is Haas.

But was it, most of the teams from that era went bust, the teams that are still around are essentially full blown factories, even if they had an independent PU supply they would still be operating at a much higher standard than they were back then. It's just a natural evolution.

I guess Toto is the main roadblock for Andretti Autosport's entry into F1. (Actually, I just got verification on that from a buddy). Not surprising. I knew a while back that he was against it.

That sucks that Andretti is even being opposed. I don't know if Toto is any more powerful than Ferrari, though.

You know what happens when you shove your head up your own ass? you suffocate. F1 never learns.

They could buy Alpha Tauri which ios rumored to be for sale. Run Herta and Tsunoda and then be the way Honda stays/comes back to F1

After reading a bunch more about the latest F1 saga, I started thinking about it. Given what's gone down in the last week and since the end of last season, the irony of Toto fucking Wolff questioning the credibility of Andretti Autosport is just ...
