Will is a wanker BUT it is kind of disrespectful for people like Tost, Wolff and others to assume that the Andrettis might not know that this sport costs money.

The Andretti's certain have the pedigree to be successful in F1. They have the money, and apparently have been working on infrastructure as well. Mario being a former WDC certainly knows the ins and outs, and the pitfalls in F1. I would love to see them do it. The more the better.

Since the grid is limited to 12 teams and they currently have 10 an effot like Andretti should be welcomed. I understand not wanting another HRT or Marussia but this is a serious company that has raced in multiple categories. I understand why Tost is nervous. Toto is just greedy.

^13 teams. And it's hypocritical of F1 to look down on Andretti while rolling out the red carpet (and waiving fees) for manufacturers who habitually cut and run. Toto needs to take a good hard look at the roots of his team, Ken Tyrrell would've never been allowed on the grid under the system he now favors, where would that have left the line of succession that led to Merc? Where would AT be if Minardi was kept off the grid?

Toto needs to take a good hard look at the roots of his team, Ken Tyrrell would've never been allowed on the grid under the system he now favors, where would that have left the line of succession that led to Merc? Where would AT be if Minardi was kept off the grid? This is so very true. The early days of F1 were full of teams like Hesketh that cobbled together a car in a shed, found a great driver and won races. McLaren was once a very small effort before becoming what it is now. Andretti has the capitol and more importantly the knowledge that they could a be threat from the start. That is what scares the manufacturers. Anything else they say is a smoke screen.
Did they complain much about Haas joining the grid? No, because they were never perceived to be a threat. Andretti Motorsport has won the Indy 500 five times, won the Indy Car championship 4 times, they involved in global racing efforts, both open wheel and rallycross. Michael is serious about this, and that scares the people there now.

So 2 Mercedes customer teams RBR, and likely Alpha Tauri no matter how much Franz Tost objects, And Alpine (obviously) IF HAAS says yes he is in.

As the Formula 1 world awaits for a final approval for Andretti Global, Current driver Colton Herta made an announcement that he is available to become a test driver. If there are no conflicts with the Indy car schedule, chances are that he is open to a current team to test out the car. And McLaren could become 1 of the teams who can have Colton test out the car. It could also mean that he will have to share testing duties with Pato O'Ward. Currently, Herta has 28 points in his Super License Status (3rd in 2020 - 20 points, and 5th in 2021 - 8 points). and Herta must finish at least 3rd to earn his Superlicense. www.the-race.com/formula-1/herta-open-to-f1-practice-offers-amid-mclaren-rumours/HELLO? TEDDY LONG?
