As expected the Mercs are one two on a Merc track. Max sure gave it all though in a slower car, pole was a possibility but we will never know. He certainly gave it his best shot at beating them. He was on a helluva lap for sure

I'll bet it costs and arm and a leg to attend the Saudi Grand Prix. My old neighbor went to the Bahrain one as a US Coast Guard Officer and and said it was AMAZING!!! Currently all tickets are sold out for Saudi Arabia though.

I went back and looked because the timestamp wasn't accurate since it reflected when the report was made. Going back and using the the FIA's map of where the signal lights are around the track if I have the timing right and the location the FIA noted correct there is nothing except Tsunoda going very slowly well off track. There are no lights, flags, or dash warnings visible in the onboard footage.
Fuck it, who knows.

I do worry about a first lap shunt that could end up becoming a pile of cars ala Spa in 1998. I will be holding my breath for the first couple of laps, I think.

Again, did you see a yellow flag? Remember, they know exactly when the light was lit and where the cars were. No flag. No light. No protest.

TBH I think I was at the right spot etc. but it ain't my job to speculate or speak for the FIA.

I do not care for this track one bit. It's like they are racing in one giant tunnel. Maybe it will be better next year when they have grandstands and whatever, but as of now I don't like it.
I was pretty sure Max was going to put it in the wall. He was going so fast, and he seemed to be just barely hanging onto the car. I'm glad he didn't get hurt.
It doesn't look like Alonso will be on the podium this weekend. Sigh.

I'll bet it costs and arm and a leg to attend the Saudi Grand Prix. I guess that is why there were so few 'fans'.

The last few races look like we have gone back to old times. The Merc is the fastest and best handling car that looks like a dream to drive. Max has to overdrive a slower car to keep up and ends up making mistakes. I'm very much looking forward to 2022 when Russell arrives at MB. I hope he's up to the task and not willing to take a back seat like Bottas has. Max and Red Bull still owe the MB for the damage during the summer. Maybe we will see a Senna move and Max takes both him and Lewis out but that probably wouldn't happen until the last race if he can maintain the point lead that race.

Why hide the video?
There is only one reason to do that.

Pay attention between 8-10 seconds, yellow/white doesn't matter at this point

So the drivers don't have to slow down any more? That signal was pretty clear.

The F2 race has been um interesting....

Redbulls choice to not change the gear box is also interesting, a DNF after the gear box blows up or potentially getting into a first corner accident (F2 had a first corner incident in 2/3 races this weekend) I guess is 6 of one half dozen of another....

Wrong. For 2 reasons. It's flashing white to warn of slow traffic ahead and it's also not the panel noted in the FIA's decision. That one is the previous panel which is not flashing at all. There's also no proof one way or the other that this is even the lap of the incident.
Flashing white is just an advisory and carries no penalty.
Like I said Fuck it, who knows.
