The IMSA GTP era, seeing Chevy V6's and V8's, Buick V6's, Pontiac Tech 4's, Olds Quad 4's. Not all in the same class. But it was neat watching the development of different engine configs play out. Yes, it was a golden age for sure. And don't forget the V-12 and V6 Turbo Jags and the 3.0 Nissans and our 2.1L Toyotas.

Sicily, 1967. The No. 222 Chaparral 2F Chevrolet driven by Phil Hill and Hap Sharp in the Targa Florio. Two things worth noting: 1. The unusual number was indicative of the car's actual start time. And 2. Jim Hall always ran Texas license plates on his cars when racing in Europe.

If I remember correctly that huge wind was bolted directly to the suspension. Kept that baby glued to the ground.
