It was reported that the teams had to be in unanimous agreement to overrule the grid spot penalty for the issue with Sainz' car at Vegas. If so, then typical gamesmanship over sportsmanship. Thankfully my favorite team director (who never had anything to do with F1 BTW) rarely ever resorted to any form of gamesmanship, at least not Toto's levels.
Honestly IMO, such a decision should've been made by officials representing the sanctioning body (for which there's currently no provision), but as mentioned in the Vegas race thread, that'd probably open up a can of worms over what's force majure or not.
Where was this 'reported'? It's inaccurate.

A unanimous vote to change the written rules was never gonna happen. All this crap about 10 teams voted to give Ferrari a break is a bunch of klick bait nonsense.

LMAO at Damon re: Max complaining about things others do, as if he's the only one doing it & it's something new. OK ....
Damon is probably the worst of the lot. Utter waste of a mic.

So the "GOAT" can't get a car his teammate can get to 4th into Q3. Lewis is done.

Glad I watched the MotoGP Sprint, I see Qualifying wasn't very eventful.

So if George is ahead of Lewis in one aspect then it means Lewis is at fault rather than George being good. And if Lewis is ahead of George in another aspect then it means George is at fault rather than Lewis being good? Does that sum it up?

George should be ahead of Lewis in points this season, or signifantly closer. But he has made mistakes. Lewis has good races when the car performs. If it is not perfect for him he struggles. The greats of the past have wieded below avg cars to great seasons and wins(MS in 96 which was a turd) and Senna in numerous cars. That is what keeps me from putting Lewis up there. If he doesn't have the best car and no competitive teammate he wins. When he has that he loses more than he wins.
