Vegas was fun, but I was pretty drunk. You get a 5 s penalty you get a 5 s penalty and so on.
The clown car was funny.
Love you all! Discuss!

Look for the Mercs to have Red Bull-like speed. They can't get blanked for the first time since 2011.

It's going to be a nail biter finish to the season! Who will take the titles? Oh wait....
I'm just happy to have 1) no sprint and 2) "normal" morning broadcasts!

About the only thing left to decide is 2nd in the Constructors between Merc and Ferrari and maybe some change among the 7 thru 10 teams.

Which apparently was the reason why Toto Wolff refused to allow any exceptions for Sainz getting a penalty for the track causing his car to be damaged. Toto wanted Sainz punished.

Nothing like a good rumor with no facts.
Most people say the teams have too much power at times but it seems when it suits the purpose they should have more power.

It was reported that the teams had to be in unanimous agreement to overrule the grid spot penalty for the issue with Sainz' car at Vegas. If so, then typical gamesmanship over sportsmanship. Thankfully my favorite team director (who never had anything to do with F1 BTW) rarely ever resorted to any form of gamesmanship, at least not Toto's levels.
Honestly IMO, such a decision should've been made by officials representing the sanctioning body (for which there's currently no provision), but as mentioned in the Vegas race thread, that'd probably open up a can of worms over what's force majure or not.

I'm guessing Liberty as the promoter of Vegas will send Ferrari some money for the parts lost which seems a little generous considering the car and parts will be year old junk after Sunday.

The Judge amplifying the Toto rumours: thejudge13.com/2023/11/20/seething-ferrari-to-act-over-vegas-injustice/The judge has been round the bend with the truth for several years now. Like I said there's nothing in the regulations that gives the inmates the tools to run the asylum in this case. For that matter with something like $ 20 million at stake nobody is a sportsman. They only have responsibility to their team and the stakeholders in their team.

Yes but IF Toto said no to giving Ferrari a pass then when it happens to Mercedes you can bet that they won't give Mercedes an inch either! IF Toto had some foresight he could have said 'okay but only on a case by case basis' or something like that so when it's his Team that has the problem then he can say 'remember in Vegas when I did this' and his Team gets the pass. Yes he's trying to get millions more in money but it's not like in the long run they need it, Ferrari doesn't either for that matter, but in a couple years when Mercedes has the issue and loses alot more than a few million it could be a huge thing.

As if it were up to Toto. Puh-leeze. The principles may have all been asked (by someone), but they had no say.
