Should be an interesting silly season. Probably only Lewis and George are sure things.

Unless of course the new guy gives them more rope.

I am willing to bet that if Merc has a season like last year again, Lewis will either change teams or retire.

Red Bull would not take him as they have repeatedly said they want younger drivers though Perez and Danny Ric aren't exactly 'younger', but Lulu is even older and him trying to learn how the red Bull works could be a few seasons worth before he becomes good enough to win enough races to be relevant again.

The closer they get to the front the sooner he'll morph into this cycle's Marco Andretti.

So perhaps he would retire. The rumors run from Lulu wanting too much money to him being desperate to getting a new deal before George drives the asking price down by beating him again. My thoughts are Toto will be looking for an extension with performance incentives while lulu is afraid that could be hard to quantify if Merc produces another crap car.

I've read other rumors, and expect that he will get a big, fat paycheck from Mercedes.

We're starting to hit the tripe.............. racingnews365.com/brundle-believes-hamilton-could-be-tempted-by-ferrari-moveWhile Brundle believes that staying at Mercedes may be the best option for Hamilton, he also expects that the idea of switching to Ferrari – like his fellow seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher did - might be in Hamilton's mind. "There's a lot of good reasons to stay at Mercedes, he just needs them to tell him how they're going to sort this out, but you know, [Ayrton] Senna left McLaren to go to Williams, Schumacher went off to Ferrari, didn't he?" Brundle said. "And it took a long time but they made that work.So these great drivers are not scared of going somewhere and then galvanising and getting a lot of new people around them and making something happen. "And I think there must be part of Lewis that thinks, 'You know, I'd love to go to Ferrari and do a Michael Schumacher and really turn that back into – if I can't win my eighth or ninth right now, why don't I go and have some fun there?'

Today I'd think he's want to go to Aston Martin as they are in the process of making a very competitive car

If he was truly the GOAT then he would want to move on to a team, elevate that team to the Top and win an 8 WDC. The fact that Mercedes seems to have fallen is a bad reflection on him. Umm, Merc you have 7 time WDC telling you your car is garbage and giving you direction on how to fix it. Why are you not listening to him? Most likely because his feedback is crap and will not fix anything. Lewis has shown that he can drive a great car very well. What he has never shown is the ability to make a good car great. Like Michael Schumacher did so often in his career. Which is why Lewis will never be the GOAT.

^^ Toto was saying in P2 that lulu may have to leave to get his 8th WDC if merc can't deliver. :-)

Kind of like the silly in season with the talk of Ricciardo replacing DeVries.
