Yeah I don't think it's a coincidence that the last 6 cars running were Merc powered. And Merc would have finished 5/6 or 6/7 without the Honda vapor locks. They had nothing at all for Ferrari or RBR. I don't think their problems are all down to the PU, but it seems clear that there's a power deficit there, imho. Gary Anderson. Was this diffuser cut out there before? I can't find it if so. Maybe this is like sculpting a statue where you remove everything that isn't.

LOL, no I believe that cutout is new. Toto said they were going to take a chainsaw to the car. Clearly he was not joking.

I see people saying the Merc cutout is new and others saying it was already there. I have no idea ...

Toto said they were going to take a chainsaw to the car. Clearly he was not joking. I've been checking on Amazon. For the budget conscious it looks like chain saws are cheaper than wings.

Guenther stated that HAAS tried the same concept last summer and the negatives outwieghed the positives so they went in a different direction. How long before sidepods show up on the Mercedes again? Friday Practice. But Toto has said in many interviews this week that the troubles with car are more than just aero. Certainly, andwith the limited changes they can make, they will have a tough time this year. Which then brings up the question of Lewis sticking around to run in 5th or 6th, or worse sometimes. If he isn't contending this season at all, next year will be his last if he doesn't leave after this year

That's kinda par for the coarse at Merc, the design their cars to make acceptable levels or down force then balance their deficiencies with dirty aero mediated by a strong engine and things like FRICS, DAS, air cooled rims and hydro heave springs. The new regs and budget cap have clipped their wings so now they have to learn how to conceive more efficient areo packages like Red Bull.

Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team @astonmartinf1
#SaudiArabianGP Update:
"@hulkhulkenberg will practice, qualify and race alongside @lance_stroll
Despite lack of mileage in the #AMR22, Nico coped well in Bahrain and we are sure he will do likewise in Jeddah.
We expect Sebastian Vettel to be fit for the #AustralianGP."

Well, this may be it for Nico. This is his last shot at a podium finish.
Until he's once again subbing for someone else.
