I am done with the drama. Max is the Champion, Lewis is a poor sportsman. I am out of this thread. Happy 2022, I hope.

Bringing in the New Year is a message left on the Abu Dhabi straight.

Sure; that pleading by RB was new to me. Perhaps you already knew that they had whined over the radio, urging Masi to help them out.

This "story" first broke about 5 days ago. Vettel and Mario also knew of these new "revelations" when they made their comments. As for Masi helping them out. I seem to remember Toto commanding Masi not to call a red flag and Toto got what he wanted. Funny though, none of this changes the fact that if Mercedes had pitted Lewis for fresh tires, like all the other teams did with their drivers, Lewis would have won the WDC no matter what Masi did. Like I said, everyone has an opinion yet Mercedes still have only themselves to blame for losing Lewis the WDC. The End.

I don't care about Brundle's opinion, I just hadn't seen RB's pleading mentioned here. Note, of course, that the red flag comment was in the middle of the race, not for Latifi's crash. But the whole thing is important; teams should not be discussing this kind of thing with race control. That will and should change. This is just another example of why it will change.

Not discussed here because it is pointless. None of this changes the fact that if Mercedes had pitted Lewis for fresh tires, like all the other teams did with their drivers, Lewis would have won the WDC no matter what Masi did. Toto made red flag comment twice, maybe even three times. Once in the middle of the race and again right after Latifi crashed. Thinking the FIA will change anything for the better, or even at all, is optimistic at best.

I just came back to this thread to point out that Max is still the Champ. LOLOLOLOL. And also Sainz is the still real champion of my heart.

Mercedes needs to fix their strategist department.
Their fumbling of the ball in Abu Dhabi cost the team the race and wdc title.

It wasn't on the world feed; do you have something to point to? He mentioned the red flag earlier because Merc had gotten hosed previously by pitting under the safety car, losing track position, and then having a red flag thrown two laps after the incident occurred (allowing RB to get a free tire change).
