So Brazil happened! Will Merc continuously take new engines? Will Red Bull strike back?
Go Lando!

Normally I'd ask what do they drink in Qatar. (pronounced Katar) but since it's an Islamic state we have complications. :-) so it's time to head to the liquor store to find some Mead. :-)

I could be wrong, but I'm not sure the Merc PU advantage will be nearly as big in Qatar as it was in Brazil. Half as much straight, and it's flat, too.

So Merc didn't like the bendy wings RBR and others were using, got the rule tightened up, and then broke it themselves to gain a huge advantage. Sounds about right. This is Mercedes AMG F1 in a nutshell. A perfect microcosm of how they operate.

Guess I gotta bust out the Mango juice for this race; if you can't get drunk you might as well get all jacked up on sugar!

As you tried to make the point of in the other thread: (No, I am not starting a flame war) (No, I don't want to revisit the issue) Mercedes, us, "Struns" and even "pushtopass" ALL support the rules. The question is, why are these rules not applied evenly, and almost never against Mercedes? Anyhow, I am not going to argue the point, because.... reasons.

But of course he did! Gotta set the table for the ICE change, right?

Just to point out that Merc was DQ'd from last week's qualifying for 0.2mm so how is it that you claim it is "never against Mercedes"? I certainly fully support complete adherence to rules.

This is F1.
Rules are made to be broken, just like in driving - you don't really know where the limit is, until you go beyond it.
A Engineer worth the money they are being paid in F1 has NEVER seen a black and white rule. Engineers see all rules in varying shades of gray - more than 50 shades at least. To get an edge you have to chart a design into the gray.

That looks like an easy bypass of the rules. The FIA proly has some stupid test with a non-representative force (too low) to check deflection. However, when Mercedes going WOT on real conditions that force is many times over deflecting the wing beyond the written limit and therefore reducing drag more than anyone else.

The FIA should probably ban this wing and under this years' Red Bull ruling give Merc 3 races to fix it.
