Three months of F1TV for all ticket holders..... I'd prefer something of actual value ... I would agree to 3 bags of pot.

Got it. So what is the political factor keeping this plant open? Military? This plant is the largest in the county. The company pumps money into the local hospital and various other things. Basically, it's a good tax write-off.
This plant was the first to produce it's product in the entire country. (sorry I can't say what that product is. It would be a dead give-away.
Let's just say that everybody here has a version of this product, maybe even 2 or 3 in their home.) This company always reminds people of that fact.
Being located in Bumfuck, OH is another selling point they like to sell to future employees. After all, Ohio has cheap groceries.
The company of course is Whirlpool. How do I know? Let's just say, I just bought a new house and I'm in the market for a new appliances (including washer and dryer). The largest plant claim is interesting, as two other places where I've previously interviewed also make the same claim: One if Boeing (in Washington), and the other is GE in Schenectady, NY where I interviewed coming out of college. It turns out that these claims for GE might have been valid in the 1980, but not today.

The plant is the largest in the county, not country. And it's not Hancock county. Too far north.

A Professor in my Behavioral Science class had a great saying, "Everyone damns big business, but nobody wants to give up their refrigerator..." Reminds me of the old song "Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die". Sorry, I've been away... But jmjgt got the point... I was referring (somewhat humorously) to the damning of big business in general, and wasn't intending to draw an equivalency between CEO compensation and that of the worker bees - apparently causing some upset and the whole thing to take on a life of its own... Oh well...

A Professor in my Behavioral Science class had a great saying, "Everyone damns big business, but nobody wants to give up their refrigerator..." Please explain the meaning of this quote. I fail to understand the equivalency with regard to CEO compensation vs. worker wages. Not to belabor things, but to be clear - it was Danica Fan who introduced that CEO compensation issue after I had already made my comment...
On to Monza...!
