I'm looking forward to the replay just to see how long it goes on. Better they should just replay Nikita Mazepins' fastest lap for HAAS (proof that the end times are truly upon us). The HAAS Team guys taking pics of the timing screens and laughing was the perfect end to a perfect storm.

What would have happened if another car had crashed today in a spot that the marshals couldn't return it to the pits. Perez gets his cars fixed and can race but the other car can't? Yes. It fits the stiff upper lip Brit rule that says you keep competing until last place is secure.

Life, and racing, are inherently unfair. You take advantage of your lucky breaks whenever you can get them. The more cars that can be fixed and back in the race the better IMHO.

Which makes me think a new rule will come out at some point, 3 races in a row makes things a bit busy, to say that any car that can't make it back to the pits on it's own can not restart the race.

And just to repeat; what a friggin' awesome qualifying lap by George. But seriously, they need to do something to fix his "black seat, white coverall" problem.

Torrential monsoon to race but light drizzle to celebrate It works out that way sometimes - it did for my race at Heartland Park back in May. Deluge Saturday Qualifying. Saturday Race drying track. Sunday Qualifying cancelled by Lightening & Rain. Sunday race flagged of in rain that diminished during the race and was dry for loading the car on the trailer.

Trying to figure out which was the biggest cluster - Spa or the ending of the Daytona Cup race?

Now that some time has passed and I've had some time to digest what I saw I thoroughly enjoyed todays completed "race". All regulations were followed to the letter and a fair competition was executed. I checked by the way and it really was.

That was stupid.
I hate rain. Mostly because I worry about wrecks, but now I have a new reason to hate rain.

The sight of Max celebrating his pole while Lando was in the hospital.... Interesting observation. Lando mentioned cheering Max on to get pole from the Medical Car. I suppose Life is all about perspective.

And a huge congrats to Mazespin, who garnered fastest lap! Too bad he didn't get a half a point for that.

So here are my thoughts about the weekend.
1. Rain happens, especially in the Ardennes forest. Maybe time of year played a role? Would they be better moving the race to the Spring or Fall?
2. Excellent effort on Saturday for George Russell, he will be a World Champion one day.
3. The more I hear Lewis whine the less I like him, not a hater, but he is a huge whiner.
4. Max knew Lando was OK, and I have no issues with him celebrating the pole, it is part of the show.
5. I watched the entire spectacle yesterday. I must say that Sky did a decent job of time filling. I lost a big chunk of my day, but was happy in the end.
6. Racing on Mondays isn't possible in F1 like it is in NASCAR, the marshals all have real jobs to get to.
