Money is always the problem. It's just in the past Red Bull had no remorse for any team that didn't have 400 million to spend like they did so I have no emotions whatsoever about their tears now.

Oh I don't care about RB's money crying either but what if Williams or McLaren have to fix a nearly destroyed car, their bad season just got exponentially worse than it already is.

Cost cap may be introducing the Self Funded Club Racing mentality into F1. Before I make the move of low probability the question is not 'can I make it', the question is 'can I afford it if I don't make it'.

I see no reason to include McLaren in any conversation. Williams already has to deal with it after Russells' wreck at Imola but ironically they probably have more funds now to work with than they have had for several years. Reality for them is totally different from Red Bull. Mercedes cried the same way about repairs after the Imola incident but nobody sympathized with Williams. The burden on all the teams could lessen somewhat when the new cars come in next year because the budget limitations and rules package might create a situation where more pieces are carried over from one year to the next.

Always remember poor Davey Ryan. Who? Why? Seems that was the guy that lulu and ronzo thru under the bus back in 08 or 09 when lulu was caught lying to the stewards about some on track nonsense.

^ Dave Ryan (born 12 May 1954 in New Zealand) is the former sporting director of the McLaren Formula One team and former racing director of the Manor Formula One team. He spent 35 years with McLaren until he left in April 2009 and set up VonRyan Racing to compete in GT racing. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Ryan_(motorsport)

Australia '09. Hamilton lied to the stewards and took Trulli's third place trophy home with him.
Later when Lewis was caught Ronzo and Hamilton said that their 35 year team manager/sporting director Davey Ryan had made Lewis lie and fired him.
Poor innocent Lewis.

In the Capped Expenditure era I can foresee monetary covenants being attached to damages that result from a transgression where a penalty is applied to a driver.

I would have loved to see Merc invoice team Williy for Imola.

My heart is broken and bleeding to see this happen to RB. I guess Max should have backed out of it.... :-)

Toto is setting things up for another lulu max wreck. Maybe not this next weekend but soon, max is gonna be on pole. lulu is gonna force the issue again. and take a 10 second reminder that he's suppose to leave max enough room. There's gotta be a on line bookie that would take that bet www.motorsport.com/f1/news/more-verstappen-hamilton-crashes-wolff/6636904/Mercedes boss Toto Wolff says Formula 1 cannot rule out further crashes between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen if the pair do not resume their rivalry in a ‘sportsmanlike’ manner.

And by turns Toto can't rule out that Lulu will get the dirty end of the altercation.

Have you all seen an analysis of how far Hamilton deviated from his line at Brooklands to avoid clash on that first lap? Max was on his hip; front tire to rear tire, but Hamilton went way outside to avoid the crash, letting Max through. 1:12 - 1:17 of this video.
