When you are overtaking on the outside line - YOU MUST clear the overtaken driver by the track out point. Safety is the responsibility of the overtaking driver.

Sir Lulu cant win unless car is 0.3+ sec faster.
Pushed wrong button in Baku, mowed some cement here today.
Error after error, while Max gets flawless by the race

Russell in P9 is super impressive. If Toto doesn’t bump him up to the A Team next year he is going to jump ship. Red Bull is lurking with Perez's one year deal extension talks at a low, low simmer. If Red Bull is a possibility for Russell I don't think Merc has a choice. They take Russell now or lose him for a long time. Russell has potential to be or currently is a very good number 1 driver. Bottas has proven to be a mediocre #2 at best. I think Lewis could have held Bottas off for a long time today but let him pass to keep him away from Lando. Anyway todays race was better than last week but still a sleeper. This track doesn't provide good racing with these cars. The officiating was questionable with all the penalties but there has to be blame for some of the driving. How does Tsunoda not know where the pit lines are...twice? In two weeks we'll see if the Mercs can find some speed at their home track. |

WAY TO GO LANDO! Nice job kid. I'm happy for him. Alonso gets a point! As much as I wanted to see Russell get his first point in a Williams, in my heart of hearts I was of course rooting for Fernando there. Always.
The stewards certainly made their presence known today. I didn't think Lando deserved a penalty. Not sure about Perez and his multiple penalties. Maybe the stewards realized they messed up penalizing Lando and then wanted to even things out. Who knows? Anyway, it was a lot.
Despite all the penalties, that was a fun race to watch. Much more fun than last week.
