To Hades with "shooting star" LeClerc. A 'flash in the pan', I reckon! What an unlikable S.O.B. is he!

About time...Welcome to the Tifosi Danny! Wouldn't that be nice? If that comes to pass, I hope Ricciardo buries LeClerc!

Leave RB because he can't be No. 1, Leave the No 1 slot at Renault because Renault can't be No 1, go to Ferrari who are never No 1 and where he can't be No 1. I guess that is his dream scenario.

Wow - Vettel is done at Ferrari. Hope he wins the shortened championship this year.

A note from Seb. The money played no part is interesting.

^I would suggest that the low money offer, as well as the one-year term, was a signal from Ferrari that they were not enthusiastic about keeping him around.

^I would suggest that the low money offer, as well as the one-year term, was a signal from Ferrari that they were not enthusiastic about keeping him around. I think he got tired of not winning often enough too. All the hype every year that 'this is the year' and something goes wrong and although they are competitive they just can't get to the top step often enough. No he won't be on the top step somewhere else either, but at least the expectations are lower and that should mean less stress. He also should be able to actually see and race other cars on a consistent basis, the kind of stuff we love to see on the track as opposed to doing that for a few laps and then be on his own for the rest of the race, except when he's passing backmarkers.

Well, fuck Ferrari then. I too hope Vettel wins the championship this year, but rest assured Binotto and Co. will do everything they can (which is everything: strategy, sabotage) to keep him behind the overrated little whiner from Monaco.
Here's hoping Vettel goes to 1) McLaren or 2) Renault. The sport needs personalities, and not just unlikable ones like Hamilton, Verstappen and Leclerc. Looks like Sainz is for sure headed to Maranello. Good luck to him.
I can deal with Ricciardo to McLaren and Vettel to Renault, but a Vettel-and-Norris pairing at McLaren with Seb's buddy Seidl would be the best. Hell, while we're at it, have Renault dump Ocon and pair Alonso with Ricciardo.

A few sites are reporting Carlos Sainz will be named Ferrari driver by weeks end.

I really wonder where Seb is going to go. I have no idea why they would choose LeClerc over Sebastian. Stupid, but then Ferrari is excellent at shooting themselves in the foot.

It may not be Ferrari's decision - maybe Seb decided not being teamed with LeClerc would be a better situation, no matter where it is.

If he isn't retiring he will have his next seat already lined up.

Seb's hopefully getting a 2- or 3-year deal with Renault or McLaren. McLaren seems a better fit but Renault can probably pay more.

One thing seems clear. At no time during his years at Ferrari did they build a better car than the Merc. With the package set for this year and next and Ferrari looking to possibly drop to 3rd best what better time to get out?
