facebook and twit are lit up this afternoon. with news about kimi. fake news? who the f+++ knows. but there's a petition with 42K signatures telling ferrari to keep kimi. first there's this "Reports from Italy say that Arrivabene said that if Kimi leaves he leaves too". then there's this According to recent reports that have emerged today, Ferrari have reached a middle ground with Leclerc and Sauber, wherein Leclerc will be on course to join Ferrari in 2020 and will get the initial agreed upon salary of $2 million in 2019, whilst still driving for Sauber. thesportsrush.com/reports-vettel-and-arrivabene-pushing-for-raikkonen-to-stay-sauber-want-a-swap/

Leclerc doesn't have the experience to rate a spot with Ferrari yet. Keep Kimi as long as he performs and give him the support to race for victories. If he's re-invigorated, support his title challenge.

Kimi's Instagram reports he's leaving Ferrari at the end of the year (and joining Sauber).

Confirmation from the Scuderia:
"As a World Champion for Scuderia Ferrari, he will always be part of the Team’s history and family. We thank Kimi for all of this and wish him and his family a prosperous future."

Yeah, I don't quite get that move. Maybe Minttu is high maintenance and he needs the money.
I like Kimi, but I'd rather that seat went to a young driver on his way up than an old driver on his way out.

And Leclerc confirmed at Ferrari. Ferrari wanted a dedicated wingman who won't get in Fattel's way or actually try to win a race themselves.

The Kimi to Sauber I didn't see coming.

There's another rumor that I don't see but it says Kimi may be looking for part ownership of Sauber. To me when Kimi's done racing he'll walk away but hey maybe in the future world it's a proper investment.

Ferrari wanted a dedicated wingman who won't get in Fattel's way or actually try to win a race themselves. That's likely the short-term goal, but my take is they want to accelerate Leclerc's path to becoming WDC. Vettel does not exactly inspire confidence when the pressure is on.

Vette's happy bubble must be several time bigger than Lulu's, Ferrari should have promised to pay for Rosberg's great grandkids education to get him on that team. Seb's just not mentally strong enough to get into Hamilton's head.

Maybe Kimi just loves to race!?! He's reached that point in his career, the "hunger is gone, replaced with the satisfaction of a job well done. That just not enough anyone.

I will lol if Kimi is back in podium or near positions next season. The wrong Ferrari driver went to Sauber.
While he may show moments of brilliance, the dork doesn't have it in the long run. And he is far far removed from whom he hopes to emulate.
If he had simply given way to shithead at that chicane in Monza, and sniped his ass later on I may be a less bit bitter, but shit the bed seb has a miracle to pull out of his ass now.
