That makes sense because you would implement the five-place penalty before the three-place penalty. Lewis should buy the Haas team a beer.

MB only has one set of Sticker Hards and the rest of their tires are all scuffs?

This should pretty much explain everything.

So to properly implement the 3 place grid penalty they really needed to call it a 4 place grid penalty to allow the FIA grid penalty technician to get it right.

MB only has one set of Sticker Hards and the rest of their tires are all scuffs? Both Mercs race strategies are obvious. Med-Hard. Ferrari will have a choice for the second stint. Early stop to Hard. Later stop to Med or Hard depending on tyre deg.

Later stop to Med or Hard depending on tyre deg. It is all about the undercut anyway. We have seen in past races where commentators expect the cars on certain tire to pit on lap twitter but they always go longer. If Leclerc can pull a gap to protect from undercut of the driver behind when the pit window opens all will be fine. If he can't pull that gap he is f'ed no matter what tires he starts on or goes on to.

What would F1 look like if it adopted NASCAR's 'Have at it Boys' Steward supervision? Answer: Tracks covered with carbon fiber debris!

F-1 cars with nerf bars. Hmmm... Survival of the fittest? You would finish every race with two cars running a half a lap apart. And no race would go the full distance...after the eight safety cars.

^ I see that someone at Merc Stuttgart HQ made a call to the FIA and got the penalty reduced to just 2 places so now he sits just behind Bottas. A quick team order and he takes third place so a one place penalty.
A one place penalty, not so bad. Makes it easier for Hammy to accept.
He will still win the race with a little luck and with the Ferrari on softs it might be just a matter of time.

Since my predictions for France were perfect, I thought I'd have another go. In Austria, a young woman named Maria is failing miserably in her attempts to become a nun. When the Navy captain Georg Von Trapp writes to the convent asking for a governess that can handle his seven mischievous children, Maria is given the job. The Captain's wife is dead, and he is often away, and runs the household as strictly as he does the ships he sails on. The children are unhappy and resentful of the governesses that their father keeps hiring, and have managed to run each of them off one by one. When Maria arrives, she is initially met with the same hostility, but her kindness, understanding, and sense of fun soon draws them to her and brings some much-needed joy into all their lives -- including the Captain's. Eventually he and Maria find themselves falling in love, even though Georg is already engaged to a Baroness and Maria is still a postulant. The romance makes them both start questioning the decisions they have made. Their personal conflicts soon become overshadowed, however, by world events. Austria is about to come under the control of Germany, and the Captain may soon find himself drafted into the German navy and forced to fight against his own country.
