It seems that Peugeot will miss Le Mans and probably the rest of the 2022 WEC season due to design issues with the 90X. I searched around but couldn't find any info on this. What has gone wrong?

Per Dailysportscar and the ACO themselves, the LM24 and WEC entry lists, originally intended to be released today, will be released later this week. The ACO cite "administrative issues". However, it seems obvious that since some drivers and teams have heavy Russian backing and with what's going on between Ukraine and Russia, this is the hang up.

This is because they are in the process of buying McLaren and racing in F1.

Goodyear Tyre TestingGoodyear hosted a multi-day test at Circuit de Catalunya last week with a gaggle of ELMS teams present from the LMP2 and GTE classes. Cool Racing, IDEC Sport, TDS x Vaillante, Muehlner, Prema Orlen, Panis Racing, Ultimate, Team Virage, BHK Motorsport and AF Corse were present with their Oreca 07s in a variety of specifications, a mix of 2021, 2022 and 2022 WEC specifications – Nielsen Racing were due to field their Asian Le Mans Series winning car but logistical delays prevented their attendance. GTEs were on track from Proton, Iron Lynx, Iron Dames, Spirit of Race and Rinaldi Racing too Cool Racing also took the opportunity to test with their ELMS-bound LMP3 Ligier. Schnitzelalm Racing, who have now taken over the assets of 10Q Racing, fielded a pair of Mercedes AMG GT3 Evos in advance of confirmation of their 2022 programme which looks set to see the team in action at the Nürburgring, likely on Goodyear rubber. Also testing on Goodyears were Equipe Vitesse with an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo 2, also seemingly bound for a Nordschleife programme with Twin Busch Equipe Vitesse also running a second GT3 car and their LMP3 Ligier at the test. www.dailysportscar.com/2022/03/08/goodyear-tyre-testing.html

Toyota GR010 Sees Hybrid Deployment Speed Raised For SebringThe first Hypercar Balance of Performance tables for the 2022 FIA WEC season have seen the factory Toyota Gazoo Racing GR010 Hybrids dealt a significant change with the speed above which their hybrid boost can be deployed raised – effectively reducing the contribution per lap that is available from the car’s KERS system. The initial spec and BoP for the Toyotas saw the cars permitted to deploy their hybrid boost above 120 km/h on slick rubber with adjustment made when the cars were on rain tyres with activation speeds from 140-160km/h. For Sebring that deployment speed is raised to 190 km/h on both dry and wet rubber. The move comes after the Toyotas dominated the 2021 FIA WEC on pace, with Le Mans seeing the Toyotas producing lap times in qualifying very substantially quicker than the opposition from Alpine (with their grandfathered non-Hybrid LMP1) and Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (with their non Hybrid SCG 007 LMH). SCG’s team owner James Glickenhaus made his feelings clear post-season that the peak performance of the Toyotas made his cars uncompetitive and only registered for a full season return after reassurances that the Balance of Performance for the class would be revisited. www.dailysportscar.com/2022/03/08/toyota-gr010-sees-hybrid-deployment-speed-raised-for-sebring.html

Flat Spot On – Sebring Hosts Hypercars and DPiJonathan Ingram | Senior Writer, RacinToday.com Thursday, March 17 2022SEBRING, Fla. – The 12-hour at Sebring is such a tough race, especially the traffic. Drivers—and let’s face it some are older than others—all seem to be choosing different braking points. It’s pitch black in some segments and easy to get lost in the darkness. Gaining ground can be a very tough proposition. And that’s just U.S. Highway 27 on the way south in a rental vehicle if you flew in via the Orlando airport late in the day. Alas, we kid around, because there’s no place or event quite like the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours held at the Sebring International Raceway, this year the scene of the world’s greatest sports car endurance double-header. The World Endurance Championship will reprise its 1,000-mile event on the day before the 12-hour, creating a twin bill presented only once previously back in the prehistoric days of 2019. Together, these two races are well worth the effort to tackle that endless stretch of U.S. 27 and the ever-expanding mecca of fishing and golf in central Florida. Ticket sales are said to be in record-breaking territory as the pandemic breakout continues to bode well for racing. The double dip amounting to 20 hours of racing has one drawback. It introduces a bit of complication due to different series and different regulations. If one thinks the traffic on U.S. 27 is confusing—because of seniors constantly braking for green lights—consider the recent past WEC regulations, the current rules for prototypes and the “universal” regulations for prototypes coming on line next year. We are here to be of assistance for those who like their endurance racing with a technical angle and who may have gotten brake-checked by the myriad changes during the transition to the new era of 2023. Those of us who follow this story have been and continue to be at wit’s end to share and explain it. Alas, here we go again. www.racintoday.com/archives/98268?fbclid=IwAR2tP7o9TuV7lIIaEPfsIiuuxu97J3bVrpaswB_zMxWJFTyMdIyDfHkDorM#more-98268

Unless NASCAR finangles the schedule to have the test day weekend and LM race weekend not conflict with Cup races, HMS are gonna need drivers for this thing.
I can see promo value for a good NASCAR Euro series driver getting contracted. I can def. see Jeff Gordon doing it, since he's a GM/HMS ambassador and Jeff has had an ambition to do Le Mans once his full time racing career ended.
And, could it be something if GM and Hendrick and IMSA could con Ron Fellows or Johnny O'Connell out of driving retirement? GM racing legends in road racing, LM veterans, etc?

Brumos returns to competition at Pikes PeakThe Brumos Collection announced today that its iconic livery will return to professional competition for the Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) on June 26, 2022. David Donohue will take on the daunting mountain course behind the wheel of a Porsche GT2 RS Clubsport. This event is the first competition for Brumos since 2013, when it retired from 50 years of competing in a variety of series and classes. “Racing for Brumos has been a highlight of my career that I look back on with pride,” said Donohue. “I feel humbled to play a role in bringing back the No.59 to such a special race and its milestone running.” The PPIHC is Donohue’s 120th race driving for Brumos. He was part of the team that brought Brumos its fourth overall win at the 24 hours of Daytona in 2009, more than 30 years after three Brumos victories in 1973, 1975 and 1978. For Donohue, the son of 1972 Indy 500 champion Mark Donohue, the win came on the 40th anniversary of his father’s 1969 overall triumph in the same race. racer.com/2022/03/29/brumos-returns-to-competition-at-pikes-peak/?utm_source=RACER+%2F%2F+Newsletter&utm_campaign=cade124c4a-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_03_29_08_27&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_76623d07b6-cade124c4a-274287873

Porsche unveils 963 for IMSA, WECTaking a page from its iconic factory and customer-driven 962 IMSA GTP model that ruled most of the 1980s, Porsche has formally unveiled its successor, the 963, which uses an LMP2-based chassis supplied by Multimatic and a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produced in-house by the German auto manufacturer. Coupled with the spec 40hp energy recovery system made by Bosch and Williams Advanced Engineering, the 963 is capable of making 680hp, which is the peak set for the class by the ACO, FIA and IMSA. Led by Team Penske and overseen by Jonathan Diuguid, Porsche Penske Motorsport pulled back the cover on a factory 963 dressed in familiar red, white and black colors at Goodwood in the U.K. PPM will run its two-car IMSA program from North Carolina and its two-car effort from a new facility in Mannheim, Germany. racer.com/2022/06/24/porsche-unveils-963-for-imsa-wec/?utm_source=RACER+%2F%2F+Newsletter&utm_campaign=47e3ef269f-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_05_24_07_38_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_76623d07b6-47e3ef269f-274287873

live endurance racing on you tube, at the ring. :-) I gave up after the first 8 commercials in German. Give me a $6.99 per month stream anytime I haven't seen any of that. I've tuned in 3 or 4 times for 5-10 minutes each time. No ads at all. Only the you tube ad for 5 seconds when I come back to the race.
