P3, another red flag. Basically nobody is getting a long run in.

5 Indy Winners. 7 WDC's. I had to look twice to spot emmo. He looks younger Juan Pablo

well, the mercs are off the pace in P3. The bouncing is worse than ever. And the talking heads were making excuses about what and why they were so slow. They need to face the facts. That car is a sled.

That car is a sled. While i was certain one team would get these rules way wrong. Surprised it is Mercedes. Not sad it is, I enjoy laughing at the commentators who apparently just can't get it through their heads they suck. BRundle said they just need to admit it doesn't work and start changing for next year

That car is a sled. I predict they will have to increase the spring rates all around so they can run the car lower like they want to while keeping it above the stall threshold that causes the porpoising, somewhat making up in aero grip with ride height what they give up in mechanical grip due to spring rate.
Or not.

^^ There is another way to look at the merc s+++ box. In P1 george did a 1:31 for 4th fastest and the temps were similar to today. In P2 he did a 1:29 something with the temps being cooler. So looking at that, the car has the potential to make a run at the podium. Then today their engineers did their thing and george was about 8/10ths slower than what he did in P1. And it was bouncing like crazy. I figure their track engineers are operating like the chinese fire drill cartoon from back in the 50ies.

I'll opine that they lowered the car a bit to satisfy Lewis' desire for better low speed grip and it screwed them on the high speed sections.
I'll also predict they have less porpoising, like yesterday, in Q, and Russell will be faster than Lewis again.

The way Lulu was slithering out of the penultimate corner agrees with your assessment, that car has NO mechanical grip.

Sarcasm? No... Jackie -on the other hand- is unmistakable in his "Jackie Stewart" costume!

Button saying the Bulls have a low downforce car is precious. No, Newey figured out how to NOT make unwanted downforce/drag at top speed unlike the 8 timers.

HAM looks like he’s safe. I wasn’t expecting him to make it to Q3.
