I love how steady the NHRA numbers always are without any drama. When the light turns green, go.
First one to the finish line wins.
The races match up better with the shorter attention spans. Drag racing works better in that regard. The huge chrome engine fires up. Fire shoots out. The cars burn out, smoke and fire everywhere. Then before you can blink they are doing 300+MPH, and the race is over. Two go down, one comes back. They can televise a replay of all 3 pro classes with a handful of interviews in a tidy 30 minute show. 60 minutes and they can create the story of the teams and the event. That's also a tidy package for YouTube, getting sponsors more bang for the buck. Some NASCAR stage breaks (and SRX down time between heats) take longer than the entire edited NHRA event. And every day, more and more people cut the cord.

Just go race.

Could it have had something to do with a delayed start, on an alternate channel, and then switch to main channel and then switch back to alternate?
