F1 has introduced a ‘Brundle clause’ after the controversy of the pundit being ignored by Megan Thee Stallion went viral.
At the US GP, Brundle returned to the grid for his customary grid walk, following the easing of the COVID-19 restrictions. However, as he was interviewing Megan, her bodyguards snubbed him and left him without an interview.
This resulted in massive fury from fans and from Brundle himself, who slammed the American celebrities who refused to take part in the custom. While the pundit has had a few snubs, none of them were as blunt as this one.
To avoid this, F1 introduced a ‘Brundle clause’, wherein celebrities will be obliged to speak to him and give interviews during race weekends.
“There have been new rules introduced, that any celebrities on the grid must not have bodyguards any longer,” Brundle said, as quoted by GP Fans.

“(It’s) some person that gets cheeky and you’ve got nine or 10 minutes live, unrehearsed, unscripted television. You’ve got to go for it.”
