Yep. I've never liked drivers being able to run the other guy off on exit, & some of the older drivers don't like it either, but F1 & the FIA have allowed it to continue - to the point of now penalizing a driver who's alongside for not letting the other guy force him off. It's just bizarre. Put it this way: Had Lewis stuck to his line on lap 1 and a collision had occurred because Max didn't give him room, then I don't see how a penalty on Lewis could have been justified, just as Max's penalty is not justified. It should be a racing incident, imho, just as I and every F1 pundit I've seen so far has said (all Brits). I agree trying to get your nose in there is how alot of passes are made as the other guy normally backs off as they should in order to live to fight another day.

In the interviews after the race toto called it a technical foul or whatever. Horner called it a racing incident. Knowing that he had a look at all the data that we don't have, that's when I figured that maxie was f+++ed. The way we look at it lulu left no room. Horner could have empathized that. But he didn't.

I'd like to see a way for all time penalties to served during the race, not just the ones that are levied before a pit stop. Having Perez running around knowing he could affect the race by blocking Bottas serves no purpose.

This penalty was very subjective. They say Max was indeed "alongside" but too deep into the corner. Does "alongside" only count on the straights? Alongside is alongside, such bullshit.
Clear favoritism by Stewards who just obeyed Hamilton's determination that Max should just give up racing him.

If a penalty really should have been given to either driver in this race, it should have been on Max on Lap 1, for forcing Lewis off, and on Lewis at T1 for the same. But that's the bullshit being pulled by practically every driver nowadays, and they keep ignoring it.

I see Lewis is still a Whiny B****h and the FIA coddles him, and the BS has gotten worse and why I rarely watch F1 anymore.

Lulu knows what to say that has worked in the past and will continue to say it as long as it works!! That's one reason I would love to see the drivers isolated from their Teams post race pending the interviews and outcome of any Stewards decision. The FIA already monitors all radio conversations except when the wire is plugged into the car so no chance of them 'getting guidance' from the Team without the FIA being aware of it. And yes I understand the tv wants things RIGHT FRICKING NOW but fairness demands otherwise.

The penalty is the FIA/F1 Group wanting to keep this 'championship battle' going as long as they can.
Not a real penalty based on rules obviously

The way I see this for Lulu/Merc, if Max is anywhere near them and one of the Mercs crashes or has an incident the stewards have made it clear that Max will exit far worse then the Mercs......
Lewis/Mercedes are not stupid I bet they start using this to their advantage for the rest of the year, hopefully Perez and Gasly can help keep the kids separated.
Hopefully Max has learned from Silverstone and today to not take the bait....

Max was along side of Lewis long before the gap closed

Lulu could have settled the whole matter in turn one, we all remember how adept he was at running Rosberg off the road back when, maybe he needs to look at some old tapes.

Lulu driving Nico off the track at COTA T1 sticks in my mind. I always felt like the Austria incident where Nico pushed Lewis wide on entry and then just drove straight on at the apex was a retaliation for that move.

Why is it that drivers dare to race Hamilton? Such insolence
