I think Bottas will go to another series rather than run Haas or some other last place Team, he can see what's happening to Kimi and Vettel and neither is doing much more than saying they are still driving in F1. Sure Vettel is near or just in the points in some races but right now even Stroll is better than him in the same car, YES it's Vettel's first year and YES everyone hopes he does better but.... stroll is better? maybe check their points total. Better yet go to the head to head. And the winner is................ f1bytes.com/2021-h2h-str-v-vet/

One race does not a champion make, it does show potential but Seb is still making some stupid mistakes that a 4 time WDC should not be making

Kimi, Fattel and Botox are still making a shitload of money.
I've said it before but if I was Botox I would just shut-up, do what they tell me to do and collect my paycheck.

He is an average driver. In fact, they are all average drivers, except for those who suck.

Which baffles me seeing as they are so unimportant in the equation. Why don't they just pay you $100k and spend the millions on engineers?

They can choose to spend on what they think is the most important part of their success. And it seems that in general they do.

Yes, the money spent on engineering, producing, setting up and developing the race car is many multiple times the cost of the drivers.

Top teams spend perhaps 25% (IIRC) of their budget on drivers. They must be total idiots to spend 25% of their budget on 0.5% of the success factor.

Drivers bring in all the fans and hence the marketing money (which is a big % of revenue) Not many people can name the three top engineers from all teams. People dont show up for the nerds. They want to see drivers fighting on cars, and cars/teams winning races.

Heck, put Macron in a race car and people would pay lots.

No team was paying that percentage for drivers. Top teams were paying less than 10%. When the driver salary cap is approved the percentage will be even less.

Budget cap is, what, $175M? Merc is paying what, $50M? That’s this year, in previous years Mercedes was spending 700,000,000+ per season on their F1 team. Now they’re running under a budget cap and driver salaries do not count toward the budget cap since almost all of them were negotiated before the budget cap was approved. As I said, there is a driver salary cap in the works to address the current disparity.
