Go Max! Poor Bottas - it's like Merc totally forgets he exists. I assume Lewis is annoyed and will find the real killers, who are probably just the ghost of Davey Ryan. Also, randomly - Lando!!!! Danny Ric went on my favorite podcast - Pardon My Take - and was quite hilarious. He also has the cutest merch, but it's all sold out :( Has anyone seen Ferrari? They abandoned my fantasy team. I will on vacation this weekend, but everyone have fun!

Hopefully this will be another strategic race and not another snooze fest. Mercedes has certainly shown recently that the old ways of doing things won't work with a 2nd Team having a competitive car like the Red Bull.

Austria is the Alpha Tauri to Germany's Red Bull. actually the race track in Spielberg Austria, where they're racing for the next two weeks, formally called Österreichring is now called the Red Bull ring. after Dietrich what's his name bought it. :-) Beyond speaking German there's not much connection to Germany. And Alpha Tauri is owned by Dietrich what's his name but they're based in Italy. :-) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Bull_Ring en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scuderia_AlphaTauri

Why does this race give me a vibe of Max leads and has a mechanical failure that gifts 25 points to the Evil Power?

Or Max leads and gets some made-up penality. Either way the LuLu wins.

If that is your "realist" view, you live in a sad world.

It's happened once this year. Remember LuLu crossing the track limits about 26 times and Max crosses it once or twice and gets called out for it? 'member that?

Sure, but by the rule book Max overtook while off track and deserved the penalty. Perez was under investigation at the French GP for the same off track overtaking infraction and they let it slide. Lewis going off track while lapping was purely a race director call and he/she/they admitted they blew it. Given how detailed the limits are now defined via directives at each track I do not anticipate it happening again. Given the history of the past few years I fully expected the Mercedes cars would be dominate at the French GP, they weren't. We have a really champion fight this year. No one can predict which cars will perform better at which tracks. No matter who wins it will be great entertainment. If you foresee dome and gloom that is pessimism. If that is your "realist" then it is what it is.

With the fastest laptime at the Red bull track being RANK VEHICLE DRIVER TIME 1. W11 EQ Performance Valtteri Bottas 1:02.94
I'm guessing it will be the Red Bulls being the winners as they will try and do the same thing as in France, pull out a gap in the twisty bits and then hold off the Mercs in the straights. How the Mercs respond in practice might give us a clue to how that will work but their car is never as good following as it is leading. One of the talking heads said the Red Bulls are naturally faster due to their rake and then having a soft rear end that can squat on the long straights, the Mercs can't change what they have mid year and their 1/2 second advantage seems to be gone.
Now the Ferraris seem to be no better than last season and in some cases worse then their closest competitors so they could repeat their lack of performance in France as well.

Bottas usually does well on this "cough" track, will toto let him do his best or has he already picked his favorite part of the back of lulu's car to stare at?
