There are only 1100 Porsches on that ship. That is only few days worth of production. Insurance will cover then loss. A similar thing happened a few years ago but for some reason that burning ship didn't make the news while this one did. I put out a few fires on ships in my younger days as a #1 hoseman in the USNavy, it's a bitch and hard as hell especially if you don't have the option, like I didn't, of backing out and letting it burn. Later on as a f/f house fires were similar except there was always a wall you could go Hulk on and bust thru if you had too.

The Golden Ray, vehicle carrier for Hyundai among other makes that were on board capsized when attempting to depart the port of Brunswick, GA with almost 5K vehicles on board. I took over two years for the vessel to be cut into 8 segments and removed from where it was grounded.

I'm thinking that there will be an announcement tomorrow on Porsche and Audi entering F1.

It's Monday. We're one day closer to VAG's decision.

^^ I wonder what the fine print says about a out clause. And if the bulls do hook up with Porsche, are Porsche gonna want to build their own "lump" from scratch, or are Porsche gonna take over the Honda / Redbull powertrain. And what does Honda think about all of this.

Porsche won't be in until the new engines come in 2026. Porsche will also probably just be badging the engine that they will pay RB's newly hired Merc engineers to design.

^^ All this makes me wonder what's happening behind the scenes in Japan. In 2008 with the financial collapse the bean counters pulled honda out of F1. They sold the team to Ross for a dollar and financed it for a year. Ross won the titles. 12 or 13 years later the rona is causing mayhem. The bean counters pulled honda out of F1 again. And the same year the bulls with a honda in the back won the title. So did any of these honda bean counter get the ritual sword and sent off to commit Seppuku.

Honda is in save face mode right now, they pulled out over money concerns only to have the current spec frozen and the upcoming unit built to a price. So they pulled the "concentrating on EV's" excuse out of the bag only to have VAG (who are thinking about going full EV) enter the sport. So now they're pissing their pants over anyone using their current IP (which is on loan) while trying to conceive a graceful way to "bow in" to the sport again...which was always going to happen.

I don't see Honda worrying too much over the IP for the present units. With everybody in a design freeze it's not too useful to someone else. By the time the designs and specs for 2026 are finalized it might even be more irrelevant.

^ Was just coming here to post that, VAG had no problem with the kids squabbling in WEC, why is it a sticking point now?

And I still do not believe anything until they have a badged car on the grid.

When cars are on the grid, I'll believe it.

Eliminate the fuel flow regulations and sensor. Maximum fuel allowed for race distance is sufficient.
