To me it is clear that Bottas came over to the right, either to block or to purposely cause a crash. You have to admit that the timing of their coming together was extremely fortuitous to Hamilton because he had spun on the previous lap. Now he gets a yellow, then a red flag, so all that time lost comes back, and he is able to drive his way up to 2nd. Had this never happened the best he probably could have done is 6th or 7th. I am not a conspiracy theorist, but dang that was convenient. That would have to mean that Bottas was going to enter the upcoming left hand turn from the left side of the road instead of the normal center right hand side of the road as every other driver did during the race AND that he WANTED Lulu to get back up to 2nd place because Bottas knew he was going to take out Russell and damage his car so much that he was also going to get taken out of the race....that's alot of thought process at 180kph going doing a short straight into a left hand turn up ahead. If I were going to block Russell I would try to do it in such a way as I could keep going, ie slam the door on him such that he would never try that shit again and then blame the 'slippery conditions' of the track. Also the further back Lulu finishes the better chance Bottas has of scoring alot of points and potentially fighting Lulu for the WDC at the end of the season. To be honest I think Russell thought Bottas would stay left instead of taking the center right side of the track and Russell misjudged the amount of space left for his car and he hit the grass during a go for it come hell or high water moment. The leading driver has the right to make one move and Bottas's was to the right to cut off Russell who went for it anyway.

Like I said, I am not a conspiracy theorist. I am also not dumb enough to think that any race car driver would crash himself at those speeds. And you are also correct that Bottas has no motivation to help Hamilton at this point.
At some point Hamilton's luck is going to run out. My family will tell you how much I was cheering when he went off track. Not out of hate, but just a desire to let someone else have a chance.

^ Wewillsee. He knows what he's doing ... I've got one of the tee-shirts he gave to the factory guys after that race in 2012 or whenever it was. They were selling em on EBAY. My nephew got me one for a Christmas present that year. :-)

I hope Kimi goes to the commentary booth when he retires. That would be amazing. Kimi is most likely not going to do that. He is not exactly the most personality filled driver. I love the guy, but he would most likely never talk, and therefore get fired. If you watched the Youtube video where drivers explained how they came to use the number that they use. Kimi's explanation was seconds long and basically "whatever."
The part with Kimi is at 3:10, but the whole thing is pretty interesting.

I think that is simply because he dislikes stupid questions and that is a stupid question. He can certainly be eloquent when needed (did you see the clip of him talking to the guy who said Kimi saved his life? Genuine warmth). Still, I don't see him doing this unless it is for a Finnish channel and we won't get to hear it.

All weekend Mercedes had been struggling with an underlying problem in bringing the tyres up to temperature. In qualifying Hamilton had just about been able to get the necessary temperature by the beginning of his first flying lap each time, but Valtteri Bottas could not.
