EXACTLY I've known alot of super smart people that had zero ability to think outside the box. I tell the story of my cousin and his stent company trying to solve the problem of them becoming clogged up over time due to the way they expand and have 'edges' that the stuff clings too over time...I asked my cousin, one of their top Design Engineers 'why not coat the metal with something that super slippery so you either extend or eliminate the stuff sticking to the stent?' He looked at me like a light bulb went off and his company was the first to market with the coating!!! Now I get NOTHING for this except the ability to tell the story but it does show how some people can't see the forest because those damn trees are in the fricking way!! Same thing with the container ship jammed in the Suez canal, for decades traffic increased and ships got bigger yet no one pulled the trigger on dredging a second channel in that narrow section. Now 75-100 ships a day are backing up cutting fuel, goods and materials off from Europe and the US east coast. People that know what to do and people that know how to do it don't automatically share the same space in the world. Big projects get drug into politics - geopolitics - national politics - corporate politics - all pulling separate directions.

Saturday & Sunday will tell. Merc seems to think the Bulls are already running their higher engine modes which will give them the advantage on Sat and Sun when they turn up their units, wewillsee.
Thought 'parc firme' conditions applied after the start of Q1

Thought 'parc firme' conditions applied after the start of Q1 They do, but the teams don't turn the PU up to kill until then.

Some of these cars have gotten so fat around the roll hoop I keep thinking they are lawnmowers with grass clipping bins. Yeah I'm talking about you Alpeen.

^Possibly the ONLY French driver that didn't drive for Ligier at some point in his career I guess he fixed that by buying the Ligier team instead.

I find disconcerting that you have drivers that are on hot laps trying to dodge cars just 'trundling around' trying to recharge their electrical stores.

a couple things I noticed after 3 practice sessions. Stroll is quicker than Vettel. To bad they're running a disadvantaged flat bottomed car. Sainz is quicker than LeClerc. And the red cars are not at the back of the pack. So far anyways. :-) Raikkonen is quick. As is Gasly. Again so far anyways. :-)
