One of those is figuring out where to best spend your money, Mercedes is far and away the best Team in F1 the last several seasons if you can buy their time tested parts it's a no brainer to do that and spend your available money in places where you can't buy speed. I was watching a show last night...the guy built a motorcycle and was swapping out the front wheels for lighter ones that cost over 3 times as much BUT gave the effect of bolting on 10 horsepower!! There aren't many places in F1 to buy 10 horsepower but if you could it's well worth the cost. Getting rid of the hydraulics engineers that design that system frees them up to work on other things or the opportunity to replace them with people who can. The problem with that going forward is the loss of anatomy in your cars design, and that it will cost that much more to start those departments back up again. Look how long it took Renault and Forced Nepotism to rebuild their programs after they'd been diminished by their former team owners. And lets not forget Manor who had the entire Merc back end bolted to their tub and still flopped, IDK if that was bad management, or NO management. I 100% agree and that's where your need the best people you can afford making those decisions and know when to say no.

So what's the over-under of where Williams finishes at the end of this season? (after all the conversations on here and other threads.)

LOL Haas will be last due to karma. LOL It doesn't help that they have 2 brand new to F1 drivers who will make a ton of mistakes as they have never driven against the other F1 drivers in an F1 race. F1 has also turned into a race of getting to the end on the tires, that too is different from the lower series.

LOL Haas will be last due to karma. Is karma a nickname for Guenther Fucking Steiner?

(I'm not holding my breath -- I'm just saying).

IT'S FUCKING RACE WEEK! :-) That's all, just had to release a bit of that energy.
I admit that one of the exciting things for me is seeing Mick Schumacher in a Formula 1 car. As I've noted before, I started following F1 because of his father (I'd seen him race in 1990 at the Nurburgring and it was clear he was fast so I started following his career). I do not expect Mick to be Michael, but with Michael essentially in a coma this does make me feel a bit more like he is here with us.

I am wondering how long it will take me to stop cursing every time they say "Alpeen" instead of "Al pine". Almost as bad as people who pronounce Porsche as a one-syllable word!

I think it is properly pronounced "Al pean'?

Sure, but we are speaking English, damnit!! :-) My sister-in-law is from Paris and my brother speaks French fluently so I hear that language a lot. I just cannot seem to pronounce it correctly. I have a deal with my SIL; I will just pronounce words like "croissant" like an American because if I try to say it with a French accent I still won't say it correctly. German? Russian? I got those!

But if you pronounce it Al pine that is the name of a car stereo company. Even in English the French car company is pronounced Al pean.

So excited to have racing right around the corner. So many cool things on the table.
How will Fred do in the Mountain car? Will Seb have a resurgence in the Aston Martin? How will Carlos and Charlie get along at Ferrari? Will George Russell be able to make the Williams a little better? Will Red Bull actually be faster than Merc? Please?
We will find out some answers in just a few days time! Can not wait.
