Great looking track with a nice flow to it - reminds me a bit of Barber Motorsports Park... Of course the racing will probably suck, but that's F1 these days anyway...

I don't love the pit entrance and exit. I fear it could lead to mayhem during the race. Other than that the track is cool, and the scenery is very pretty.

I can see someone spinning trying to enter the pits. Pit exit should be OK unless someone coming out of the pits contests the apex of T1 - like what happened to Kimi in FP2

Oh wait... that's NASCAR.

They talk about the drivers going slow so the don't raise the temps and pressures in the tires - BAN TIRE WARMERS - they would have to go faster to get the tires up to working temps.

Hamilton, Bottas, Verstappen. Same story, different day.

Ocon screws Q3 for most.

Q3 was typical Lewis luck. Part of being successful in racing is having some luck and Lewis seems to have plenty of it. Bottas stood a fair chance of taking the pole but the yellow took care of that.

Yep. Glad it's not just me. I told my kid "...and again, Lewis is the luckiest guy on the track". No way to know if Bottas would have gotten him, but he's been very quick all weekend...

Lewis got his time without a tow. The straights at Mugello look longer and higher speed than Monza.

I didn't see the F2 and F3 races but it seems that passes into T1 would involve an attack from the right side. Same as pit exit. Could be interesting.

Max has thrown away any number of cars over the years to get to where he is today.

And next year the cars are set to lose a lot of rear downforce due to a smaller rear floor. IMO, that's one of the things that's messed up Vettel (banning of the exhaust blown diffuser as well), and benefitted Hamilton, as Lewis favors loose/tail happy cars.
Seems Max favors loose race cars, and his teammates since Riccardo left RBR have been the same as Seb and can't get around to handling a tail happy car.

Well, running a F1 race at this track is an interesting experiment. The back to the future scenario. We're running 2020 F1 cars on a 1990ies F1 track. There's places where the grass, actual real grass is next to the track. Remember when they started to get away from that. They went with grasscrete, Concrete with holes in it to make it look like it was all grass. :-) Real gravel run offs. Most F1 tracks now days have enough paved run offs that they could be used for a parking lot for a football game pre rona. Will it make a difference in the race. With the mercs a second faster, prolly not. But does anyone remember the race in canada in what was it, 2011 or 2012. The race that Jens won. Where the normal tire strategy was f+++ed because of the rain. And everybody liked it. That started the whole thing of having the tires falling apart to spice things up. Maybe someone will realize that the modern F1 tracks with pavement everywhere really sucks
