Bernie owning Brabham was fine with 2 championships in the early 80's until Bernie decided by 1986 he'd rather run F1 than a team.

As I recall from a competition standpoint - while Bernie owned Brabham it was on a downward arc. It was on a downward arc when he BOUGHT the team.

That didn't take long. I thought the family would have been kept around until end of season. When you buy a house do you let the previous owners hangout in it? ;)

When you buy a house do you let the previous owners hangout in it? ;) There is sometimes a transition period after a business is sold. Especially, if the new owners are lacking experience in certain areas and want the previous owners to stay on to consult for a couple of months. It sounds like these new owners think they are going to identify and approach people about working for them, not taking applications. I think the turnover rate is going to be high at Williams or whatever they will be known as. I would hate to be an employee there right now.

While I agree that these skill sets are not a dime a dozen, it also should be noted that they are at the back of the pack so I am not sure you want all of that "experience".

Williams have sucked for years. Why waste time? Bring in new management asap and assess current employees soon after. If I was an employee of Williams I would have left long ago, as would others with ambition.

There's some speculation now that the Williams buyer might have Renault ties, and Williams could be entering a technical partnership with Renault, a la RP and Merc ... thus further explaining Renault so intensely seeking clarification re: RP and Merc.

Intensely? Renault pulled out of the protest muttering about how their aims had been met. It was like doing the honorable thing while turning tail. That and the long term engine deal Williams has with Mercedes makes the whole idea sound somewhat fanciful.

Personally there's probably a few old hacks they could tap but I think they should find someone in the Horner category. Someone who is not necessarily in the paddock today but who has been a standout in F2 like Horner was or in another category. It's a long term post that needs a creative filling and not a band aid solution.

End of an era. Last truly British owned team and last of the pure privateer race teams.

How ridiculous is this? They have a picture, everyone wearing masks and not a single description of who these people are. Journalism these days really sucks.

It is no longer journalism - it is just some hack writing something on the net - without any form of editorial oversight for either fact checking or decent grammar.
