I like to give my hats off to Neil Verhagen and Logan Sargeant for their decent performance at Monaco with both earning their 2 top 10 finishes. Verhagen - a Mooresville, NC native who is part of the Team USA Scholarship and Red Bull development driver sealed his best finish on the season with a 6th place in race 1 and a 7th in race 2. While Boca Raton, Florida native Sargeant who despite a sub-par performance, manages to squeak with his 2 top 10s with a 10th in race 1 and a 9th in race 2. Alex Peroni and Charles Milesi conquered their perspective races. But Chinese driver Yifei Ye retains the points lead over Christian Lundgaard. Milesi takes over 3rd dropping Sargeant into the 4th place position. Max Fewtrell completes the top 5. Verhagen moves 1 spot to 12th. The Eurocup will take a huge long break before heading to the Red Bull Ring at Saltzburg in July. But we hope we see both Verhagen and Sargeant once again in the Northern European Cup series at Monza. www.renaultsport.com/And another disappointing weekend for Woodbury, CT's Santino Ferrucci who went scoreless once again. Santi could only muster a 13th in Race 1 and a 12th in races 2. But was hit with a clutch bite points penalty after the finish. Toronto's Nicholas Latifi manages 3 points for his 2 top 10 finishes with a 9th in race 1 and an 8th in race 2. Russia's Artem Markelov took race 1 in dominant fashion while Antonio Fuoco took the sprint race. A 3rd-place finish in Race 2 keeps Lando Norris with a 27 point lead over Alex Albon. Markelov moves up to 3rd after George Russell could not score a point due to dnfs for both races. With Jack Aitken dropping Nick De Vries for 5th. Ferrucci stays in 17th. The F2 series goes on a 1-month break while the F1 grid heads to Canada as they await a return to France at the Paul Ricard Circuit at Le Castellet. Ferrucci will hop the pond and a lake to join Dale Coyne Racing for his Indy Car debut at the Dual in Detroit subbing for the injured Pietro Fittipaldi ( YIKES: almost misspelled his name again.) www.fiaformula2.com/In Murata, Japan, a lack of funding kept Bruno Carneiro on the sidelines. A tough break for the Riverton, Utah native as he had to be replaced by Kazuki Hiramine. And once again, Sho Tsuboi stays perfect in 2018 sweeping both races. Ritomo Myiata repeats again a runner-up for both races. Toshiki Oyu and Sena Sakaguchi have earned 3rd place finishes. Tsuboi, Myiata, and Sakaguchi remain at their perspective places. Oyu's 3rd place podium moves him up to 4th with Ukyo Sasahara breaks into the top 5. Carneiro could only watch himself drop to 8th in the standings as they go on break before heading down to the Fuji Speedway this July. www.j-formula3.com/

It has been 1 week guys. But a few things have come up. Last week in the Euro Formula Open, Cameron Das weekend was a total disaster. The Baltimore native driving for Carlin earned a front-row start at the latest round in Spa-Francoshamps. At the start of the race, Das would have built a huge lead in the initial lap. But it ended when Polish driver Alex Karkosik lost control at the Pouhon (Turn 12) causing him to collide with his teammate - New Yorker Yves Baltas and Fortec's Aldo Festante resulting to bring a safety car. At the re-start, Das and polesitter Argentinian Marcos Siebert went toe-to-toe until they reach lap 8 where it went south for Das. At Le Combes, Siebert and Das collided causing Das to hit the wall and Siebert losing his wing. Series points leader Felipe Drugovich became the winner of race 1 leading a Brazil 1-2-3 with Matheus Iorio, and Guilhelme Samaia. Drugovich would later repeated once again completing the sweep. Alex Karkosik and Dutch driver Bent Viscaal joined the podium in Race 2. Das would salvage a 5th place finish. Baltas finished 13th. Drugovich retains his lead over fellow countryman Iorio followed by Viscaal, Seibert and Das. Baltas drops to 16th as they will take a huge summer break until next month where they wait for the Hungaroring in the 1st weekend next month. www.euroformulaopen.net

This past weekend at Paul Ricard belongs to Juan Manuel Correa. The Florida-based Ecuadorian-born American managed to score a P9 in race 1 thus earning him 2 points. But dropped to 12th in race 2. New Yorker Ryan Tveter came 1 position short once again on both races. Anthoine Hubert ran away with the Feature win as is ART teammate Callum Ilott in the sprint. Hubert remains the series leader followed by Nikita Mazepin, Guiliano Alesi, Ilott and Leo Pulcini raounding up the top 5. Correa drops to 10th. Tveter remains scoreless and classified 16th www.gp3series.comSantino Ferrucci did not had the luck he wanted with a P13 in race 1 and a P9 in race 2. Toronto's Nicolas Latifi manages to score 2 top 10 finished with a P7 in race 1 and P8 in Race 2. George Russell and Nick De Vries would win this past weekend. But is Russell keeping De Vries in check managing to cut Lando Norris's lead at the same time. Antonio Fuoco and Artem Markelov remain in the top 5. Latifi is in P11 while Ferrucci drops to P18. www.fiaformula2.com

![](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Dg9H9sFUYAE7Kk3.jpg) Logan Sargeant weekend was a special. Especially when getting a 2nd chance to build your resume. The Boca Raton, Florida native who competes in the Formula Renault Eurocup series just competed in FR 2.0 NEC (Northern European Cup) series. Sargeant strolled away with a Race 1 win right after taking the lead on lap 2 at the Retifilio curve keeping R-ace teammates Max Fewtrell and Charles Milesi on his mirrors. But in Race 2, Sargeant's chance for a podium finish slipped away in the Della Roggia curve enabling Lorenzo Colombo to pass him for the final podium spot. Teammate Victor Martins would take the win ahead of Charles Milesi. With all top 5's in the 1st 2 rounds of the NEC, Sargeant narrowly hold the series points lead by a mere 4 points(87-83), absentee Alex Peroni retains 3rd ahead of Charles Neubauer and Charles Milesi. Their next NEC round will be at the end of the month at Spa. But will visit the Red Bull Ring in 2 weeks time for Eurocup action. www.necup.com

At the Red Bull Ring, it was mixed results for all 3 US representatives. New Yorker Ryan Tveter manages to score his 1st 6 points for the season in the feature race after finishing 7th that earned him a front-row start. But it all went south when he collided with teammate Guiliano Alesi and Jenzer driver David Beckmann at the initial lap. Juan Manuel Correa's best result was a 13th in the sprint. The Florida-based driver suffered a puncture from his teammate David Beckmann in the feature ending his day 2 laps short of the finish. Toronto's Devlin De Francesco was also 2 laps short in his GP3 series debut in the feature. But managed to finish 11th in race 2. Callum Ilott and Jake Hughes scored the weekend wins. Ilott remains the leader over Antoine Hubert. It is followed by Leo Pulcini, Nikita Mazepin and Guiliano Alesi rounding the top 5. Correa remains steady in 11th while Tveter moves out of the goose-egg squad to 13th. www.gp3series.comIn the FIA Formula 2 ranks, Woodbury, Conn., native Santino Ferrucci breaks his scoreless streak with 2 top 10 finishes with a 10th in race 1 and a 7th in race 2. Toronto's Nicholas Latifi could only managed 1 point in the sprint for 8th after an 11th place finish in the feature. George Russell dominated the feature race while Artem Markelov snatched the sprint. Russell continues to lead the series by a 10 point margin over Lando Norris, with Markelov right behind him. Alex Albon and Sergio Sette Camera complete the top 5. Ferrucci could only move up 1 spot to 18th in the points, while Latifi remains in 12th. www.fiaformula2.comIt is now North by heading Northwest for Silverstone this week.

As much I want to support all the US hopefuls, I will have to think about it regarding this. In this case? Sorry Santi!!! You are on your own on this one. Being unsportsmanlike is unacceptable. This is something I will not slide.
Just wait until Ed Carpenter hears about this one.
He will give a full mouthful guaranteed.

![](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DhkfC9lWkAA7a6o.jpg:large) Now in the lighter side: A great day for New Yorkers Oyster's Bay native Ryan Tveter's day became a superb one after notching top 5 finishes in GP3 at Silverstone with a 4th place in the feature and a 3rd place podium with fellow Trident teammates Pedro Piquet as the winner along with Guiliano Alesi in the Sprint. But Florida-based driver Juan Manuel Correa's day was not fortunate. JM could only finish the sprint race in 15th after crashing out in the feature without completing a lap. It was Antoine Hubert taking the feature win with Nikita Mazepin and Callum Illot completing the podium. Toronto's Devlin De Francesco could only seal a 15th in the feature and a 14th in the sprint. Mexico's Diego Menchaca scored a P12 in the feature and a P11 in the sprint. Hubert remains the series leader with Illot only 6 points behind. Leo Pulcini remains in a distant 3rd with Mazepin knocking on his doors in 4th by 2 points. Piquet moves up to 5th after the sprint victory. Tveter breaks into the top 10 in 10th. Correa drops to 12th. Menchaca remains in 16th with only 1 point. as they head out to the Hungaroring in 3-weeks time. www.gp3series.comNicholas Latifi' weekend was also worse. Not as worse as Santi's. But the Toronto native fell outside the top 15. Alex Albon and Antonio Fuoco won their races this weekend. ![](http://www.euroformulaopen.net/uploads/photos/medium/2018%2022%20101.jpg) Another fellow New Yorker also had a mixed day. And speaking about the Hungaroring, this past Saturday in the Euro Formula Open Series. New Yorker Yves Baltas would have originally finished 3rd in the rookie podium. But was upgraded to 2nd place in the rookie podium after surviving a drive-thru for a false start in race 1. Overall, Baltas finished 7th overall. But finished 12th in race 2. And it was also a great day for Baltimore's Cameron Das after scoring 2 top 5 finishes with a 5th place and a 4th. Felipe Drugovich would sweep the weekend once again. Brent Viscaal and Marcos Seibert would also score podiums. The standings remain unchanged for the top 2 drivers with Drugovich as the points leader in a runaway with Viscaal in a very distant 2nd. Matheus Iorio is a close 3rd. Seibert and Das round up the top 5. Baltas is 16th. The Euro Formula Open will be on hiatus until September when they head up to Silverstone during the Labor Day weekend. www.euroformulaopen.net

And as expected, ex-British F3 driver and Houston native Chase Owen will participate in the FIA F3 Asia championship. He will have Chinese driver James Yu as his teammate. Yu finished 4th in the Formula Masters China Series. Owen is the 2nd driver-owner to participate in the series joining Japanese F3 National regular Ryuji ‘Dragon’ Kumita. The 1st event will be this weekend at Sepang. www.formulascout.com/jake-hughes-to-contest-first-asian-f3-round-with-hitech/43749And as expected, Riverton, Utah native Bruno Carneiro sat once again in the sidelines due to lack of funding after missing out another round in the Japanese Formula 3 series. His deeply unfelt non-apology has not helped him. If he had truly owned it he could have had a chance.
