The city is not messing around when it comes to the shut-down order.
My part of North Carolina, I live 1.5 miles from the Ocean, did the same thing but stipulated 'short term' meant 90 days or less. Some property owners tried to get around it by renting for over 90 days and then accepting cancelations after a couple weeks, but the area caught on and gave them $1500 fines and that stopped. Then the property owners themselves started coming down so they closed the beach to everyone and they stopped coming too. Now that Easter is over my area is talking about reopening the beach but with no parking so you would have to be dropped off or walk limiting the number of people on the beach. They are still concerned that an influx of 'out of towners' will raise the current number of cases, we have 36 in the whole county and 99% of those are travel related, with the 1% being contact with an infected person in the same house. You could tell when the 'out of towners' came to town as they all had out of State license plates, most from NY or NJ, and had more than one shopping cart full of groceries as they went back to their cars. Don't get me wrong we NEED those people as the property value of THEIR homes makes mine worth what it is today!! If they had to sell their homes then my home would be worth pennies on the dollar for a LONG time. But like everyone else our Leaders are afraid of someone coming and spreading it to others and our beach town health services would be quickly over whelmed.

Wilmy were you working at All American Racers when Willy T drove for them? Yes, I started when they were shifting from GTO to GTP, and Willy did some races with the 99 in 1989 at Portland, Lime Rock, and maybe Del Mar? In 1990 he was more or less full time in CART and did not do any IMSA that I recall. He was a great guy. Funny. Good humored. He brought Walter Payton to Lime Rock as Sweetness had just got started in motorsports. I was in the trailer race morning setting up rear corners for the crash cart when they came inside to look around. Walter pinched me on my butt HARD as the walked by. Willy told me later he did that a lot. I had a bruise for weeks . We used to give Willy crap about abusing the dog rings in the Hewland VGC gearbox (a HUGE transaxle) while Juan (Fangio II), like his uncle, was so easy on them. He hated that but took it in good humor. Good guy. And he adored Dan. And Dan adored him.

You're welcome. I was very fortunate to have spent the time at AAR that I did.

I could leave that much money with my stock broker and make even more money as I will by having to take it out to live on.

Here is some perspective on the stock markets. I agree with Warren Buffett that you buy value and hold for the long term. The previous run up started on June, 3 2019. Most of the money we lost since February, was gained since last June. Our current position since then is as follows:
Date*********DOW*****S&P*****NASDAQ
June 3, 2019**24812****2744*****7333 (Baseline Date)
April 9********23719****2789*****8153 Change****down 4.4%**up 1.6%***up 11%
Today (April 17)*24242****2875*****8650 Change*****down 2.3%**up 4.8%***up 18%
Calm down about the losses. For most of us, it was money that we only "lost" because we didn't sell in February! Today's update is above. I will try to do this every week.

Sorry, but if a single is making $120,000 or a couple is making $240,000 a year, they don't need any government money.

And hedge funds didn't need to get 'no payback loans' by the latest 'stimulus bill' but that happened too, the problem is it's being run by politicans and they want their friends to get the money.

Trickle down is alive and well. And doesn't work any better now than when GHW Bush called it 'voodoo economics' during the 1980 campaign ...

Just had groceries delivered to my house from Krogers. Great service for $9.95. It would have been next Friday to have a pick-up order done. Well worth the extra $9.95.

Just when you thought it was safe to go out, my local health department has issued a legally enforceable (misdemeanor) mask wearing requirement. But it is not so simple. There is this:
