The 2020 season has started 3 weeks early for Logan Sargeant. The Boca Raton, Fla. native just got picked up by the FIA Formula 3 Team champion The Prema Powerteam. Very excited is Logan after making an impressive drive at Valencia for a post-season test that followed by a main-event 3rd-place podium in the Macau GP F3 race. That podium seal his deal with Prema being the 1st driver to be signed. From Logan: www.fiaformula3.com/News/2019/12_December/PREMA-Racing-secure-Sargeant-for-20201/

Just as he was mentioned on my review - an honorable mention just got picked up. Houston's Jak Crawford was selected by Red Bull this week and will race for Dutch powerhouse Van Amersfoort Racing in the ADAC German F4 and the Italian F4 championships. Known as "Jet Pack", Crawford compiled 6 wins and 8 podiums in the NACAM F4 championship enroute to finish 2nd in the championship. He also competed in the USF2000 series where he finished 7th scoring 5 top 5's and 4 top 10 finishes. Crawford becomes the 2nd US driver selected by the Red Bull Junior team in 3 years since Neil Verhagen was selected in 2017. The Mooresville, NC was dropped after the 2018 season and now part of the BMW Junior program. We like to congratulate Logan Sargeant after picking up a 2nd-place podium in Race 1 of the season opener in the FIA Formula 3 series at the Red Bull Ring. The Boca Raton, Florida native attempted to keep tabs with teammate Oscar Piastri. Only for Piastri to place more distance on Sargeant who never made a threat after words. Alex Peroni - another rival for Piastri and Sargeant from their Eurocup days - took the final podium spot. Frederik Vesti and Lirim Zendeli completed the top 5. But race 2 was not fortunate for Sargeant after suffering a puncture early in the race finishing 27th -1. Liam Lawson took the honors in race 2 with Richard Vershoor, and Clement Novalak taking the podium spots. David Beckmann and Zendeli completed the top 5. Baltimore's Cameron Das finished 22nd in race 1. but was not fortunate in race 2 suffering suspension issues when he went off track classifying him P30. Piastri and Lawson hold the 1st 2 positions with Sargeant taking 3rd. Peroni and Vesti complete the top 5 in the point standings. The drivers will remain in Austria for another Red Bull Ring helping. If the drivers like Piastri, Sargeant, Peroni begin to juggle the points, it will be a rivalry that will take them to another level. (NEW RULES: THIS TIME THE TOP 10 FINISHERS WILL EARN THEIR RACE 2 REVERSE GRID STARTING SPOTS SO IT WILL BE A NEW CHALLENGE) www.fiaformula3.com

He remains in the fight. Logan Sargeant had a miracle downpour this past weekend during the Styrian GP on this latest round in the FIA Formula 3 championship. The Boca Raton, Florida native benefited a reprieve in race 1 when the feature race started with a huge flood of rain in which ended his Saturday in 6th place. Trouble is that they only completed only past the 25% of the race distance. But got a huge break in race after finishing 2nd behind Theo Pourchaire maiden win. The benefit came when Liam Lawson and Jake Hughes collided in turn 4. Frederik Vesti won the rain delayed race 1. But only to be awarded 1/2 of the points. Liam Zendeli and David Beckmann completed the podium results. Points leader Oscar Pastri and Oliver Caldwell completed the top 5 with Sargeant behind them. Baltimore's Cameron Das scored a P24 in race 1. But unable to finish Race 2 due to a collision. Pourchaire, Sargeant, and Beckmann were the podium finishers in Race 2. Richard Verschoor and Piastri completed the top 5. With these finishes, Piastri (44), Vesti (37.5), and Sargeant (34) are 10 points between 1st and 3rd. Beckmann and Verschoor complete the top 5. Das is yet to score, with the Hungaroring as their next destination. www.fiaformula3.com

AND LOOK WHAT I FOUND. A CAPTION!!!
I hope Jak Crawford does not learn from his mistake that got him ousted from his ride 13 years ago.
Jak: Lemonhead Emojis to your former bosses.
Scott: That's the spirit.
