Not news, but oddly fun to watch. OMG, that is hilarious... ... I can see something like that being popular in casinos - or for all I know, they're already doing it... I'm not much of a casino person, but I can see myself betting on that and losing a bunch of money...

What is amazing is how supposedly equal marbles - acting upon the same physical constraints of track obstacles and elevation differences can end up being so widely separated in their performance - at least in one running of 'the race'. I wonder if the same individual differences would continue over 100 running's of the race?

Beemer is saying the tech transfer from the sport simply isn't strong enough to justify further participation, plus they need the engineers on the road car side. Sounds a lot like why Honda is bailing out or F1.
