I could be linked to a move to Ferrari as well.

Lance Stroll is probably not linked. Can't think of anybody else. Even Karun Chandhok probably has a chance now.

That article loses some credibility when it describes Bottas as a "Mercedes star"

I'd say the car and the team they have now was built around the idea that Fred wouldn't be around. They seem to be in a much better place because of his absence.

I could be linked to a move to Ferrari as well. We have drivers lounge tickets for Saturday and I can track my Porsche real good, so I guess I could probably drive for Ferrari in my weekends off. Also, I could help diversify things like Hambone without the tragic hair and instagram.

The car is better off, but I doubt it's because of Fred's absence. Like jmjgt & Seidl say, Stoff & Alonso helped a lot in getting this car to where it is.

There's a story out there somewhere that has Alonso going to Haas, which makes zero sense unless Alonso is looking at having his own team down the line. That's actually something I've been wondering about recently with his talk of a big project he can't speak about yet...

That's actually something I've been wondering about recently with his talk of a big project he can't speak about yet... If Fred wanted to ride around and score a point now and then he'd have stayed at McLaren.
I'm trying to imagine him wanting to own an F1 team and I just can't do it, no matter how hard I try. Talk about an exercise in futility, that's it.

HAAS is another team that can get him something for Indy and has ties to Ferrari. I could see Gene getting Alonso a Penske seat in a one off Indy run.

They were like pallbearers at a funeral.
