Cale Thomas Gets First All Star Win Cale Thomas officially etched his name in the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 history book on Friday night at Attica Raceway Park, utilizing a late-race restart to pass leader Joey Saldana and earn his first All Star victory. Thomas, who battled in the runner-up position the entire distance before taking over the top spot, made his winning move with just 11 circuits remaining, actually driving underneath Saldana at the exit of turn four to officially lead lap 30. A caution flag involving second row starter Brady Bacon on lap 29 set up the winning move with Thomas ultimately chasing Saldana to complete lap 29 just before sling shotting under his fellow Indiana native the following circuit. From that point forward, it was all Thomas, eventually pulling away to a comfortable advantage over the “Brownsburg Bullet.” “I did my best Byron Reed impression tonight,” Thomas said. “I knew Joey [Saldana] was running the bottom of turns one and two and the top of turns three and four, so I knew I had to go somewhere where he wasn’t. I got under Saldana coming off of four just after that last restart. He tried to come down and block me, but I knew I didn’t want to give the spot up. I gave him a little tap so he knew I was there hoping it would move him up the track and it worked. I don’t like driving like that, but that part of the track was open and I had to take it. I knew I was faster on that restart.” Saldana led 29 laps and finished second. “Actually, I was struggling during all of the restarts tonight,” Saldana said. “Every restart Cale would get a really good run on me. It took me about a lap or three-quarters of a lap to get the tires back underneath me. Regardless, hats off to those guys. I know how special it is to win your first race, especially an All Star race. It’s a feeling that never goes away. It’s hard to win one of these races. Congratulations to them.” In impressive fashion, 12th row starter, Lee Jacobs, finished third. “Hats off to Rex LeJeune, the All Stars, and the entire Attica staff tonight,” Lee Jacobs said. “You could race all over this track tonight; top, bottom, middle. I wish we would have started a little closer toward the front. I think we had the car to beat the last 10 laps or so.” Bobby Clark won the 305 sprint car feature and Steve Kester topped the late model main event. The finish:1.91-Cale Thomas [2]; 2. 26-Joey Saldana [1]; 3. 81-Lee Jacobs [23]; 4. 3G-Carson Macedo [3]; 5. 71X-Gio Scelzi [15]; 6. 13-Paul McMahan [10]; 7. 87-Aaron Reutzel [7]; 8. 11N-Craig Mintz [5]; 9. 35S-Stuart Brubaker [11]; 10. 4L-Cap Henry [13]; 11. 83-Cory Eliason [24]; 12. 49X-Tim Shaffer [16]; 13. 5R-Byron Reed [6]; 14. 98-Carl Bowser [25]; 15. 4-Parker Price-Miller [22]; 16. 22-Brandon Spithaler [17]; 17. 3-Jac Haudenschild [21]; 18. 35-Tyler Esh [20]; 19. 99-Brady Bacon [4]; 20. 17-Caleb Helms [9]; 21. 70-Dave Blaney [8]; 22. 5T-Travis Philo [12]; 23. 11-Dominic Scelzi [19]; 24. 23-DJ Foos [14]; 25. 10H-Chad Kemenah [18] Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/sprints-midgets-other-sprint-cars-cale-thomas-first/

Reutzel Cruises In Lernerville All Star Run Aaron Reutzel cruised to his second Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory of the season on Friday night at Lernerville Speedway, leading all but the first two circuits to ink his name on the $5,000 winner’s check. Reutzel, who started second on the feature grid, nearly swept the entire program at the four-tenths-mile oval, not only recording the fastest time of the night during hot laps and qualifying time trials, but also earning a dash victory. The main event win allowed the Clute, Texas, native to extend his All Star driver championship point lead, now with a 28-point advantage over Jac Haudenschild. Tim Shaffer used a late surge to power to second at the checkered flag, followed by Parker Price-Miller, Carson Macedo and defending champion Chad Kemenah. “We’ve been working really hard at getting our cars to go where other people can’t,” Reutzel said. “I knew it was going to take a really fast race car to beat us here tonight. I felt that if we didn’t make any mistakes, we were going to be really good. It’s really cool to come to a place you’ve never raced at before and get a win. We really didn’t know what to expect.” Despite showing the way for the vast majority of the 30-lapper, it was polesitter, Dave Blaney, who got the early jump, using the bottom line around Lernerville Speedway to lead the first two laps. Wasting little time before making his first, official bid for the top spot, Reutzel chased Blaney for the first two circuits, eventually squeezing underneath the former World of Outlaws champion at the entrance of turn one. “I knew the bottom was going to be good, but I also knew the top was going to stay good over here in turns three and four,” Reutzel continued. “I just wanted to make sure we weren’t bottom-dependent. I could even roll through the middle pretty good. I had to use the bottom to get by Blaney, but when I stayed down there, I was forced to slow down a lot. That’s when I decided to start rolling through the middle and top.” Shaffer’s charge to the runner-up spot started from the outside of row four. The finish:

McMahan Ends Long All Star Drought For the first time since 2002, Paul McMahan won an Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 feature, leading all 30 circuits Friday night at Outlaw Speedway. McMahan earned $5,000 for the victory aboard Tom Buch’s No. 13. Danny Dietrich, who climbed eight positions during the 30-lap program, chased McMahan to the checkered flag, followed by Chad Kemenah, Aaron Reutzel and Trey Starks. “I just want to thank my boss for allowing me to take time off of work to come here and race,” Paul McMahan said. “I owe this all to the guys standing behind me. It feels good to get back in All Star victory lane. This is my first time ever at Outlaw Speedway. It’s a cool, little track that offers a lot of racing room. I’m already looking forward to the next time we visit this place.” After a pair of bad starts, one of which the result of red flag conditions involving West Virginia’s Cale Conley, main event action was finally underway at Outlaw Speedway with Paul McMahan earning the early advantage. Parker Price-Miller chased McMahan to the flagstand for the first time, followed by Brock Zearfoss and Chad Kemenah. The main event would go caution-free for eight circuits until motor problems consumed Price-Miller, forced to retire to the pit area on lap nine after a short stint in the runner-up position. During the same caution, Brock Zearfoss also had problems, losing a right-rear tire while battling within the top-five. Although forced to go to the work area, the Jonestown, Pa., native would soon rejoin the field on the speedway. The green flag waved for Paul McMahan for two more circuits until caution flags appeared for the final time on lap 11, this time for a bundle of cars that made contact at the entrance of turn one. All drivers involved, including Brock Zearfoss who just returned to the speedway, walked away unharmed. From that point forward, main event action went undisturbed. McMahan continued to lead the pack, now with Chad Kemenah, Danny Dietrich and Dave Blaney on his heels. Dietrich worked around Kemenah on the following circuit to take the runner-up spot officially on lap 12, soon followed by Dave Blaney who also worked by Kemenah to take third officially on lap 14. Slower cars came into the picture for the first time just beyond the midpoint of the 30-lapper forcing McMahan to maneuver off of his preferred line around the bottom of the speedway. Even when traffic started to intensify near the end of the main event, McMahan kept his advantage over the other front-runners by utilizing the top of turns one and two and the very bottom of turns three and four. “This car was working from top to bottom,” McMahan continued. “Traffic really didn’t seem to slow us up at all. I was able to move around them without any trouble. When you can move around like that pretty flawlessly, it’s easy to build confidence and race hard. I’m proud of all of these guys. Hopefully we can do it again tomorrow at Stateline Speedway.” A near-five lap battle for the runner-up spot between Dietrich and Blaney during laps 22 through 26 ended in Dietrich’s favor as Blaney would clip an inside tire forcing the Premier Motorsports entry to retire to the infield. Although moving in within a half-straightaway of McMahan, Dietrich would be forced to settle for second, followed by six-time and defending All Star champion Kemenah, at the line. The finish:Paul McMahan, Danny Dietrich, Chad Kemenah, Aaron Reutzel, Trey Starks, Tony Stewart, Ryan Smith, Carson Macedo, Jac Haudenschild, Jared Zimbardi, Justin Barger, Carl Bowser, Gerard McIntyre, John Garvin, Joe Trenca, Mitchell Wormall, Joe Kata, Brandon Spithaler, Tyler Esh, Dave Blaney, Brock Zeaross, Parker Price-Miller, Cale Conley. Caleb Helms Exits All Star Circuit Of Champions Caleb Helms recently decided to pull off the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions tour. “We have a family team and we work for our family business,” he said. “I think we’ve come to realize we can’t focus on business and full-time racing to the same degree. I’ve had a blast racing with the All Stars and we’ll continue to run All Star shows, but we’re going to scale back.” The team is scheduled to compete this Friday at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio, with the All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads FAST 410 Championship Series and Saturday at Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe, Ohio, with the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Ass’n. Helms scored his season-best result of eighth at Attica Raceway Park on April 20. “We made the dash during both All Star shows at Attica this season so we’ve been strong to start each night,” he said. “We’re still working to gain a little bit in the main event so Friday will give us another opportunity to experiment and learn.” Helms will make his season debut at Atomic Speedway on Saturday. He posted four top 10s in five races there last year. “We seem to run pretty well at Atomic each time out,” he said. “It’s a fun, high-banked track. There can be a lot of slide jobs and when the top and bottom are right it’s gives you a ton of options to move around on the track.” Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/caleb-helms-exits-star-circuit-champions/

Carson Macedo Outruns Greg Hodnett For Stateline All Star Victory Although forced to fend off challenges by one of Pennsylvania’s finest, Lemoore, California’s Carson Macedo earned his way to the top of the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 feature podium on Saturday night at New Stateline Speedway, leading all 30 circuits around the 1/3-mile oval to score the first All Star victory since Lee Osborne accomplished the same feat in 1970. The $5,000 payday, Macedo’s first All Star triumph of the 2018 season, increased his career win total to two with the traveling Series, also scoring a feature win during action at Lincoln (Ill.) Speedway exactly one year prior on June 9, 2017. Pennsylvania Posse invader Greg Hodnett chased Macedo to the final checkers in Busti, N.Y., followed by six-time and defending Series champion Chad Kemenah, recent Outlaw Speedway winner Paul McMahan, and Tony Stewart. “Man, I feel like we’ve been close so many times. It feels really good to be standing up here,” Carson Macedo explained in victory lane, driver of the familiar Lucas Oil/Slade Shock Technologies/Tarlton and Son Inc./No. 3G. “We’ve been consistently finishing inside the top-five and top-ten, but winning is what we are working for. With Ohio Sprint Speedweek right around the corner, I can’t think of a better time to get hot.” Utilizing his outside-pole position, Macedo was able to earn the early jump, quickly moving ahead of Greg Hodnett and Chad Kemenah as the field drove by the flagstand for the first time. Besides periods of heavy traffic and eventual pressure by Greg Hodnett, a pair of cautions, one on lap six for a spinning Aaron Reutzel, and another on lap nine for a slowing John Garvin, were the only two distractions during Macedo’s march at the front of the running order. Traffic appeared for the first time just before the midpoint of the 30-lap program giving Hodnett an opportunity to eat away at Macedo’s built advantage. As traffic intensified, so did the battle for the top spot; Macedo relying heavily on the very topside of the speedway while Hodnett worked the bottom. A miscalculated slide job effort on lap 22 was Hodnett’s first, true attempt at getting by the California native. Macedo was able to counter, immediately increasing speed and stretching his advantage back to nearly two seconds. By the time the final checkers flew, Macedo’s advantage was up and over two seconds, crossing over the start-finish line by a margin of victory equalling 2.176 seconds over Hodnett. “Traffic made things a little tricky. I tried my best to keep up with track changes and race where I felt the most comfortable. As traffic got worse, I was forced to move around quite a bit,” Macedo continued. “When Greg (Hodnett) took a look under me, I knew I had to turn it up a little bit. His move forced me to drive a little bit harder and pick up my pace. I wasn’t sure where he was at the end, but I didn’t see him again.” The New York triple-header will come to a close on Sunday evening, June 10, when the All Star Circuit of Champions travel to the north side of the Finger Lakes for a first-ever visit to Weedsport Speedway. Padding an impressive All Star stat sheet in the Empire State, Weedsport Speedway will become the 14th track in the state of New York to host All Star Circuit of Champions competition. Carson Macedo Goes Back-To-Back In The Empire State; Earns First-Ever All Star Victory At Weedsport Speedway Just 24 hours after earning his first Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory of the 2018 season, Lemoore, California’s Carson Macedo dominated his way back to All Star victory lane, this time during action at the state-of-the-art Weedsport Speedway in Weedsport, N.Y., on Sunday, June 10. Much like his feature campaign on Saturday evening at Stateline Speedway, Macedo led all 35 circuits during main event competition at Weedsport, clinching a second consecutive $5,000 payday, as well as a third-career All Star victory. To make things more impressive, Macedo crossed under the final checkers eight seconds ahead of eventual runner-up finisher, Paul McMahan, lapping up to the 15th position in the running order. Danny Dietrich finished third just behind McMahan, followed by Aaron Reutzel and a hard charging Parker Price-Miller, who advanced 13 positions to earn the evening’s MSD Performance Hard Charger Award. The Weedsport Speedway appearance was a first-ever for the All Star Circuit of Champions. “This is pretty unbelievable. What a weekend for this team,” Carson Macedo explained in Weedsport Speedway victory lane. “Tim and Cindy Norman, Joe Gaerte; they all do such an amazing job with this race team. The car keeps getting better and better. Our plan was to come to New York and be competitive all weekend, but to win two straight is pretty special. This is a perfect transition into Ohio Sprint Speedweek.” Brock Zearfoss led the field to green on Sunday night at Weedsport Speedway. Unfortunately, Zearfoss found himself facing the wrong direction after entering turn one during the initial start, also collecting Dave Blaney. With two cars involved, the feature field was criss-crossed allowing Aaron Reutzel to inherit the top spot with Carson Macedo to his outside. Macedo took advantage of his inherited starting position and jumped to an early lead right from the drop of the green. Although distracted by two additional cautions, one on lap four and another on lap 20, Macedo maintained control, actually extending his lead to just shy of two seconds by the time the feature’s second caution appeared on lap 20. Perhaps, the most challenging segment of the 35-lapper took shape with just over ten circuits remaining. Relying on the very topside of the speedway to navigate the 4/10-mile, dirt oval, Macedo was faced with traffic stacking up two and three cars wide, ultimately forcing Macedo to rely on the bottom, as well as the middle to maneuver through lapped cars. Although challenging as first, Macedo’s technique through traffic was flawless, instantly bouncing back to a four second lead with five circuits remaining, increasing to eight by lap 35. With their first New York swing of the season in the books, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 will switch gears and begin preparations for a nine-day campaign in the Buckeye State. The 2018 edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek will feature nine straight days of sprint car competition, comprised of eight different facilities throughout all four corners of Ohio. Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe will host Tony Stewart’s All Stars twice during Ohio Sprint Speedweek, with Attica Raceway Park, Eldora Speedway, Waynesfield Raceway Park, Wayne County Speedway, Sharon Speedway, Muskingum County Speedway, and Limaland Motorsports Park each hosting the Series once. A-Main (35 Laps)1. 3G-Carson Macedo [3]; 2. 13-Paul McMahan [4]; 3. 48-Danny Dietrich [10]; 4. 87-Aaron Reutzel [2]; 5. 4-Parker Price-Miller [18]; 6. 27-Greg Hodnett [17]; 7. 14-Tony Stewart [16]; 8. 10H-Chad Kemenah [5]; 9. 33-Mike Mahaney [13]; 10. 99L-Larry Wight [9]; 11. 5W-Lucas Wolfe [11]; 12. 44-Trey Starks [12]; 13. 14C-Coleman Gulick [14]; 14. 10-Joe Kata [22]; 15. Larson Crashes, McMahan Wins At Attica Paul McMahan picked up his second Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions victory in less than a week, claiming Friday night’s Cometic Gasket Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by C&R Racing opener at Attica Raceway Park. McMahan, driver of the Tom Buch-owned/Apex Structures/DMI/No. 13 sprint car, earned his fifth career All Star victory by displaying patience and persistence, battling within the top five the entire 40-lap distance before taking over the top spot for the final time on lap 25. With a little help from race leader Aaron Reutzel, McMahan was able to take advantage of Reutzel’s misfortune with the turn-four wall to inherit the top spot, driving on to score his first victory at Attica Raceway Park. “Today is Bryan Clauson’s birthday and I parked it for him,” said McMahan. “This has been a long time coming. I think I ran second here a few times but never got it done. To get it done here tonight to open up Speedweek is pretty special. My team worked their butts off to get us to this point. We have a long week ahead of us. To begin Speedweek with a victory will set the tone for the next eight races.” Despite the turn four wall being the benefactor, McMahan was in the hunt all 40 circuits. Starting from the inside of row two, McMahan’s first, successful bid for the top spot occurred on lap 19, actually gaining command after race-long leader Kyle Larson made contact with the turn-four wall leaving his car heavily damaged. On the restart, Reutzel, the evening’s pole-sitter who was racing in the runner-up spot the entire distance, worked around McMahan to lead lap 20, pounding the cushion in turns three and four to drive around the familiar No. 13 sprinter. Although Reutzel was able to maintain a quick pace around the topside of the speedway, McMahan’s preferred bottom groove was working just fine, keeping pace as the laps counted down. Just four circuits later, Reutzel would fall victim to the same patch of retaining wall as Larson, ultimately making contact with the turn four barrier. Reutzel’s mishap and loss of momentum would allow McMahan to slip by and take control again on lap 25. Keeping pace with McMahan for the next several circuits, Reutzel’s No. 87 would eventually succumb, forced to retire on lap 30. From that point forward, it was all McMahan at the front of the field, but not without pressure from Kasey Kahne. Kahne, who maintained a spot within the top-five all 40 laps after starting alongside McMahan during the initial start, attempted his best Jac Haudenschild impression in an attempt to drive around McMahan for the lead. Fortunately for McMahan, Kahne’s momentum was shut down by the turn-four wall, nearly toppling the Kasey Kahne Racing entry before miraculously regaining control. Kahne’s misfortune was enough to allow McMahan to escape from the rest of the field, driving away to a near-three second lead at the finish. “I was pretty committed to the bottom of the speedway,” McMahan noted. “I’m too old to be up on the top and run the cushion like those guys. We found something with this car that has allowed me to run the bottom and keep good speed. I know (Tom Buch) has a few victories in New York, but I’m pretty sure this is his first win in Ohio. My dad is with me here tonight. I want to wish him a Happy Father’s Day just in case we don’t get to be up here again on Sunday.” Also utilizing Kahne’s momentum loss, local favorite Byron Reed was able to use a late surge to finish second at the line, followed by Jac Haudenschild, Cale Thomas and Kahne. The finish:1.13-Paul McMahan [3]; 2. 5R-Byron Reed [8]; 3. 3-Jac Haudenschild [5]; 4. 91-Cale Thomas [7]; 5. 4K-Kasey Kahne [4]; 6. 22C-Cole Duncan [11]; 7. 39-Spencer Bayston [9]; 8. 14-Tony Stewart [16]; 9. 71-Gio Scelzi [6]; 10. 49X-Tim Shaffer [24]; 11. 10H-Chad Kemenah [14]; 12. 48-Danny Dietrich [19]; 13. 81-Lee Jacobs [12]; 14. 3G-Carson Macedo [13]; 15. 17-Josh Baughman [10]; 16. 4L-Cap Henry [20]; 17. 4-Parker Price-Miller [17]; 18. 11-Ryan Smith [15]; 19. 7K-Cale Conley [21]; 20. 35-Tyler Esh [18]; 21. 22-Brandon Spithaler [26]; 22. 87-Aaron Reutzel [1]; 23. 57-Kyle Larson [2]; 24. 98-Carl Bowser [25]; 25. 97-Broc Martin [22]; 26. 70-Dave Blaney [23 Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/paul-mcmahan-tops-ohio-speedweek-opener/

Larson Bounces Back With Eldora Score Kyle Larson came back from adversity to claim victory on night two of Cometic Gasket Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by C&R Racing at the world-famous Eldora Speedway. Larson wrecked his No. 57 while leading on Friday night at Attica Raceway Park and his Paul Silva-led crew spent much of Saturday building a new car, which paid off with Larson’s first Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory at the half-mile track. Larson started eighth and worked his way to the front, holding off a late charge from Dave Blaney, who fell to third behind Carson Macedo on the final lap. “I’m so happy to get it done here tonight for my guys,” Larson explained. “Paul Silva and the crew built this car this morning; this is a brand new car from the tires up. We got here just in time to catch the drivers meeting and get in the seat for hot laps. I made a mistake last night and it cost us a car. This really makes up for that. I’ve now won in every kind of car I have ever raced here at Eldora. That’s pretty cool considering I’ve only raced here like 10 times.” Forced to start on the outside of row four by way of dash result, Larson, who was taking advantage of an off-weekend from NASCAR competition to battle with Tony Stewart’s All Stars, wasted little time advancing to the front of the field, boosting himself to fourth as the front-runners raced by the flagstand for the first time. By lap seven, Larson worked his way to second, now in pursuit of race-long leader, Aaron Reutzel, who owned a commanding lead equaling just over two seconds. Just two circuits later, Larson was on the tail tank of Reutzel, chasing the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports entry through turns one and two on lap ten, eventually utilizing a slingshot move off of the corner to squeeze between Reutzel and a lapped car as the leaders raced down the back straightaway. Larson’s brave move worked, leading Reutzel to the line to officially lead lap 10. Although impressive, Larson’s first campaign at the front of the field was short-lived as Dave Blaney was able to put the moves on the NASCAR star by using his preferred line through the middle of the speedway. Soon enough, Blaney caught Larson to take command on lap 13. A pair of cautions on lap 17 and lap 19 gave Larson two opportunities to regain the top spot from the former World of Outlaws champion. Although the first attempt failed, unable to drive by the Premier Motorsports entry as the pair raced through turns one and two on lap 17, the second attempt proved to be more successful, allowing Larson to build enough momentum on the topside of the speedway to chase down Blaney by lap 23. On lap 24, Larson made a perfect bid for the race lead by sticking a textbook slider between turns one and two. Although escaping into traffic, Blaney never gave up, actually tracking down Larson before attempting a last-ditch effort slider in turn one on the final circuit. The slide job attempt was unsuccessful. The victory was Larson’s seventh against the All Star Circuit of Champions. The finish:1. 57-Kyle Larson [8]; 2. 3G-Carson Macedo [5]; 3. 70-Dave Blaney [4]; 4. 49X-Tim Shaffer [3]; 5. 87-Aaron Reutzel [1]; 6. 4-Parker Price-Miller [9]; 7. 13-Paul McMahan [13]; 8. 71X-Gio Scelzi [15]; 9. 48-Danny Dietrich [7]; 10. 24-Rico Abreu [17]; 11. 3-Jac Haudenschild [19]; 12. 91-Cale Thomas [6]; 13. 11-Ryan Smith [18]; 14. 11N-Cap Henry [22]; 15. 12N-Cole Duncan [16]; 16. 14-Tony Stewart [21]; 17. 17B-Josh Baughman [11]; 18. Larson Leads All 30 At Wayne County Kyle Larson became the first repeat winner of Cometic Gasket Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by C&R Racing on Monday night at Wayne County Speedway, leading all 30 circuits to claim his second $5,000 top prize in three days. It was Larson’s eighth All Star victory and third at Wayne County Speedway. Larson earned the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory from the outside-front row, getting the early jump on Gio Scelzi and Jac Haudenschild. “We weren’t very good in our heat race, but Paul Silva made some adjustments and we were much better in the dash,” Larson said. “It’s really important to make the dashes. Not only does that put you closer to the front in the main, but it also gives you more access to the track so you can try and learn something. Hats off to Paul (Silva) and this entire team. He wasn’t too happy about last night, but he’s incredibly smart and keeps me going in the right direction.” Utilizing the top groove, Larson maintained a blistering pace during his campaign at the front of the field, very rarely having to deal with lapped traffic as four cautions, two of which resulting in red flag conditions, would keep the field in check. Larson’s closest call of the main event occurred with just a handful of circuits remaining. Former Wayne County Speedway track champion Andrew Palker was beginning to reel in Larson as the front-runners entered traffic. Setting up Larson for a last-ditch effort takeover, Palker attempted to drive underneath Larson at the exit of turn four on lap 29 and again at the entrance of turn one on lap 30. Larson’s momentum proved to be too strong, holding on to score the Speedweek triumph. Palker finished second, followed by recent Attica Raceway Park winner Paul McMahan, Carson Macedo and Christopher Bell. The finish:1. 57-Kyle Larson [2]; 2. 57X-Andrew Palker [4]; 3. 13-Paul McMahan [6]; 4. 3G-Carson Macedo [7]; 5. 11N-Christopher Bell [10]; 6. 22-Brandon Spithaler [13]; 7. 48-Danny Dietrich [15]; 8. 11-Ryan Smith [23]; 9. 10H-Chad Kemenah [25]; 10. 7K-Cale Conley [18]; 11. 38K-Brad Haudenschild [16]; 12. 39-Spencer Bayston [17]; 13. 97-Broc Martin [19]; 14. 71-Ayrton Olsen [11]; 15. 3-Jac Haudenschild [3]; 16. 9J-Dean Jacobs [20]; 17. 4K-Kasey Kahne [9]; 18. It’s All Reutzel In Plymouth All Star Run Aaron Reutzel made the most of the pole on Friday night, leading all 41 circuits at Plymouth Speedway to earn his fourth Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory of the season. The main event, originally scheduled to go 35 laps in distance, was adjusted to 41 laps to honor the late Jason Johnson. “This is a special win for me and my team. To win a 41-lap race in honor of Jason Johnson is very special, and really emotional,” said Aaron Reutzel in victory lane, driver Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports/Folkens Brothers Trucking/Fischer Body Shop/No. 87 sprint car. “I’ve known Jason a long time. I watched him race a lot in the area where I am from, and when I started to build a race team, he helped me out a lot. My car actually had a fuel line come off tonight, but I was too stubborn to stop. I wanted to win this one.” Reutzel’s campaign at the front of the field was nearly flawless. After withstanding a trio of cautions during the first 11 circuits, one of which resulting in open red flag conditions due to a lengthy caution cleanup effort, it was smooth sailing for the former ASCS national champion, ultimately sneaking away just enough in traffic to keep anywhere between a half straightaway and a full straightaway between himself and second-place Jac Haudenschild. Although escaping unscathed, Reutzel’s only close call of the 41-lap program occurred on lap 29 when the Texan caught a trio of lapped cars at once, forcing Reutzel to take evasive action and split all three competitors. With clearer lanes ahead, especially his preferred lane around the topside of the speedway, Reutzel drove on to score the $5,000 payday by a margin of victory equalling 1.34 seconds. Chasing Reutzel most of the way, Haudenschild finished second. Carson Macedo was third from 10th on the grid, followed by Brady Bacon and Chad Kemenah. The finish:1. 87-Aaron Reutzel [1]; 2. 3-Jac Haudenschild [4]; 3. 3G-Carson Macedo [10]; 4. 99-Brady Bacon [5]; 5. 10H-Chad Kemenah [3]; 6. 63-Kevin Thomas Jr. [14]; 7. 13-Paul McMahan [7]; 8. 7K-Cale Conley [13]; 9. 7TW-Brandon Wimmer [15]; 10. 14-Tony Stewart [11]; 11. 81-Lee Jacobs [16]; 12. 11-Gary Taylor [8]; 13. 39-Spencer Bayston [6]; 14. 4K-Kody Kinser [9]; 15. 98-Carl Bowser [20]; 16. 17B-Bill Balog [12]; 17. 35-Tyler Esh [19]; 18. 73-Ben Schmidt [21]; 19. 7J-Joe Swanson [22]; 20. 21-Brinton Marvel [23]; 21. 4-Parker Price-Miller [2]; 22. 70-Dave Blaney [17]; 23. 22-Brandon Spithaler [18] Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/reutzel-plymouth-star-run/

It’s All Reutzel In Route 66 Sprint Sweeping the two-day Indiana/Illinois road trip, Aaron Reutzel cruised to his fifth Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory of the season Saturday night at the Dirt Oval @ Route 66. Reutzel, who was forced to overcome engine issues early in the program, took command for the first time on lap seven and never looked back, eventually surviving a few bobbles on a fast, but tricky curb, ultimately keeping a hard-charging Dave Blaney at bay. Six-time and defending All Star champion Chad Kemenah chased Blaney and Reutzel to the final checkers, followed by Carson Macedo and Paul McMahan. “This goes to show what kind of a team we have,” Aaron Reutzel said. “Hurting a motor earlier today really threw a wrench in our plans. Lucky for me, my guys were able to get that changed pretty quick. Besides that hiccup, we never really struggled tonight. We were able to put ourselves in a key position in the heat race, followed up with a solid dash finish, and then a win.” Reutzel’s first, official bid for the top spot occurred on lap seven, actually driving around two competitors in one circuit to claim the race lead. Utilizing the very topside of the speedway while racing in the third position, the driver of the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports/No. 87 entry powered around Parker Price-Miller at the exit of turn two to gain the runner-up spot, just before nailing a perfect slider on race leader Jac Haudenschild at the exit of turn four. The textbook slider worked perfectly, maintaining control as the front-runners raced by the flag stand to complete lap seven. Reutzel’s campaign at the front of the field was not all gravy, forced to withstand four cautions and periods of heavy traffic. Perhaps Reutzel’s biggest challenge was the topside cushion, nearly biting the former ASCS national champion with less than five laps remaining. By that time, Dave Blaney, who had already charged from 21st to second, was closing-in on the familiar No. 87. Although strong around the bottom groove, Reutzel’s momentum on top was stronger, holding on to score his second All Star victory in as many days. “This track really reminds me of a track we have back home,” Reutzel continued. “That track is really hard on left rears, so I knew I had to keep my left rear under me and just keep the tires from spinning. Once I got to third right from the start, I just kind of went into cruise mode. I was able to get around Parker [Price-Miller] and then make a slider work on Jac [Haudenschild]. That last caution actually saved me because I think I had the wing a little too far back. I’m glad to get this done.” The finish:1. 87-Aaron Reutzel [4]; 2. 70-Dave Blaney [21]; 3. 10H-Chad Kemenah [3]; 4. 3G-Carson Macedo [8]; 5. 13-Paul McMahan [11]; 6. 4-Parker Price-Miller [1]; 7. 3-Jac Haudenschild [2]; 8. 5J-Jeremy Schultz [9]; 9. 11-Gary Taylor [10]; 10. 35-Tyler Esh [14]; 11. 14-Tony Stewart [12]; 12. 64-Scotty Thiel [6]; 13. 7K-Cale Conley [5]; 14. 85M-Steve Meyer [23]; 15. 28-Brian Paulus [19]; 16. 23-Russel Borland [20]; 17. 9X-Paul Nienhiser [7]; 18. 2W-Scotty Neitzel [24]; 19. 73-Ben Schmidt [15]; 20. 1M-Phillip Mock [18]; 21. 25-Jake Blackhurst [17]; 22. 63-Kevin Thomas Jr. [16]; 23. 98-Carl Bowser [13]; 24. 65-Jordan Goldesberry Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/reutzel-route-66-sprint/

Dave Blaney Tops Lou Blaney Memorial In appropriate fashion, Dave Blaney earned the Lou Blaney Memorial crown on Saturday night at Sharon Speedway, becoming the first repeat winner of the prestigious event in its 10-year history. Blaney, son of the legendary Lou Blaney, earned his 49th career Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 triumph in exciting fashion, ultimately holding off Western Pennsylvania regular George Hobaugh and a fast-charging Spencer Bayston in front of a packed house to claim the $5,000 winner’s share. “This is really special for me and my entire family. I’m really happy to win this race,” Dave Blaney said. “To be honest, the last couple of weeks we’ve been working to win this race. You kinda know what you’re going to get when you come to Sharon; it is slick and smooth and wide. We had enough for them tonight, I guess. Pete Grove, my car owner, won this race a few years back with Danny Holtgraver. I couldn’t be happier to get my first All Star win of the year here at Sharon.” By way of dash victory, Blaney’s campaign at the front of the field started from the outside-front row, earning the initial jump over fellow front row starter Carl Bowser and fifth-starting George Hobaugh. Although he was the class of the field during the early segments of the 30-lapper, extending his lead to nearly four seconds just before the midpoint, Blaney’s stronghold over the field was soon interrupted by traffic. Hobaugh, who advanced to the runner-up spot on lap two, was able to chip away at Blaney’s advantage in traffic, cutting it down to less than two seconds by lap 18, then down to just a half-second by lap 20. With traffic intensifying in Blaney’s preferred groove around the bottom of the speedway, the 2014 Lou Blaney Memorial champion had no choice but to shift lanes and move to the top of the speedway. The desperate lane shift would not only cost momentum, but also cost Blaney the point position, as Hobaugh was able to slip underneath Blaney to officially lead the 22nd circuit. Realizing he needed to move back to the bottom, Blaney recovered in a hurry, eventually working back by Hobaugh as the pair battled a lapped car down the back straightaway. Blaney shut the door on Hobaugh entering turn three and regained control of the field to lead lap 23. A caution the following circuit would allow Blaney the opportunity to catch his breath. With clean air and an open track in view, Blaney cruised on to lead the remaining circuits unscathed, only encountering lapped traffic slightly before the checkered flag. Hobaugh held on to finish second to earn his career-best finish with the All Star Circuit of Champions, followed by a cushion-pounding Bayston from eighth, Gary Taylor and Chad Kemenah. “I was just trying to keep myself calm. I was driving around and said ‘oh sh–, there’s (Dave Blaney),’” Hobaugh said with a laugh. “It’s really awesome to run with these guys. I got to watch Lou (Blaney) race as a kid, so to be out here racing with Dave is just a blast.” “You never know what is going on behind you,” Blaney explained. “I didn’t want to get bottled up too bad behind the lapped cars, so I decided to move up the race track. It may have worked a tiny bit, but not enough.” The finish:1. 70-Dave Blaney [2]; 2. 40-George Hobaugh [5]; 3. 39-Spencer Bayston [8]; 4. 11-Gary Taylor [3]; 5. 10H-Chad Kemenah [6]; 6. 81-Lee Jacobs [19]; 7. 98-Carl Bowser [1]; 8. 13-Paul McMahan [11]; 9. 3G-Carson Macedo [4]; 10. 5M-Max Stambaugh [15]; 11. 7K-Cale Conley [7]; 12. 7KX-Dan Shetler [16]; 13. 35Z-Jared Zimbardi [17]; 14. 49X-Tim Shaffer [22]; 15. 57X-Andrew Palker [12]; 16. 21-Dale Blaney [21]; 17. 3-Jac Haudenschild [10]; 18. 87-Aaron Reutzel [20]; 19. 51-John Garvin [18]; 20. 22-Brandon Spithaler [24]; 21. 97AU-Mitchell Wormall [14]; 22. 35-Tyler Esh [25]; 23. 4-Parker Price-Miller [13]; 24. 14-Tony Stewart [9]; 25. 13M-Brandon Matus [23] Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/dave-blaney-tops-lou-blaney-memorial/

Reutzel Steals Duncan’s All Star Thunder Cole Duncan was just four circuits away from claiming a second consecutive Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory at Eriez Speedway on Friday night when Aaron Reutzel stepped up and stole the show. Utilizing lapped traffic during the closing circuits of the 30-lapper, Reutzel, who started fourth, drove underneath Duncan at the exit of turn two on lap 27, ultimately ending a high paced, nose-to-tail chase around Eriez Speedway. Still well in command of the All Star Circuit of Champions’ season win list, the I-79 Summer Shootout victory increased Reutzel’s win total to six on the year with all six occurring at different facilities. In addition, Reutzel became the fifth different driver in five All Star Circuit of Champions starts to earn a trip to Eriez Speedway victory lane. Jac Haudenschild crossed under the final checkers just behind Duncan and Reutzel, followed by Dave Blaney and Tim Shaffer. “For the most part, we were pretty equal tonight,” Reutzel said. “It was going to take lapped traffic for me to get around him. It just played out perfect for us. It was one of those nights where we were better off running second.” Jumping to third after the initial green, Reutzel’s chase for the top spot commenced with just a few laps recorded, actually sneaking around Tyler Esh to take the second spot officially on lap two. Showing signs of potential early, Reutzel’s first, official bid for the top spot occurred on lap six, utilizing a slide job through turns three and four to get by Cole Duncan. Unfortunately for Reutzel, the pass was negated due to a caution just as the leaders were about to cross by the flagstand. In clean air, Duncan was dominant, keeping a safe distance between himself and the field for the first 14 circuits, especially after caution flags reappeared on lap 11 clearing the track ahead of him. By lap 21, traffic started to become an obvious factor allowing Reutzel to cut down on Duncan’s advantage. The pair raced nearly nose-to-tail for the next six circuits before Reutzel made his winning move, capitalizing on Duncan’s failed attempt to maneuver around slower cars as the duo battled off of turn two on lap 27. From that point forward, it was all Reutzel at the front of the field, eventually driving away from his fellow frontrunners during the final three circuits to earn a trip to victory lane. The finish:Feature (30 laps): 1. 87-Aaron Reutzel [4]; 2. 22C-Cole Duncan [1]; 3. 3-Jac Haudenschild [6]; 4. 70-Dave Blaney [8]; 5. 49X-Tim Shaffer [5]; 6. 13-Paul McMahan [10]; 7. 7K-Cale Conley [16]; 8. 35-Tyler Esh [2]; 9. 14-Tony Stewart [13]; 10. 3G-Carson Macedo [7]; 11. 10H-Chad Kemenah [12]; 12. 81-Lee Jacobs [11]; 13. 51-John Garvin [3]; 14. 4-Parker Price-Miller [15]; 15. 22-Brandon Spithaler [9]; 16. 126-Bryan Salisbury [17]; 17. 98-Carl Bowser [18]; 18. 1R-Gale Ruth Sr. [19]; 19. 11-Gary Taylor [14] Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/reutzel-steals-duncans-star-thunder/

Reutzel Does It Again With All Stars For the fourth time in five events, Aaron Reutzel earned his way to Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory lane Saturday night at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway during the second and final leg of the I-79 Summer Shootout. For Reutzel, his evening in Western Pennsylvania was nearly flawless, not only leading all 25 laps of the All Star main event, but also kicking-off the evening with the fastest time during qualifying, as well as earning an impressive heat race win. The victory, Reutzel’s seventh of the All Star season, concluded a model weekend for the Clute, Texas, native that also included a victory on Friday night at Eriez Speedway. “We are doing one heck of a job right now,” Aaron Reutzel explained in victory lane, driver of the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports/Folkens Bros. Trucking/Hollywood Blasting & Coating/No. 87 sprint car. “Our cars have been fantastic, as well as holding together. When nights go as smooth as this, you can’t ask for much more.” After finishing second during the evening’s dash, his only defeat at PPMS, Reutzel lined up on the outside of row one for the start of the 25-lap event. Although flawless for most of the program, immediately gaining the lead after the initial start, Reutzel did encounter a few hazards, mostly in the form of lapped traffic which nearly cost Reutzel his lead. Reutzel’s first, and perhaps his most challenging situation during the 25-lapper occurred on lap eight when the driver of the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports entry nearly made contact with a lapped car twice while trying to work around him. Although unable to keep up with Reutzel for the first few circuits, Carson Macedo, who started from the pole by way of dash victory, was able to chase down Reutzel as the pair encountered lapped traffic. Reutzel’s near-mishap was just what Macedo needed, using his momentum to pull even with the Texan as the duo battled through turns one and two on lap 10. Luckily for Reutzel, the potential lead change was negated after caution flags flew for a slowing Tyler Esh. After the feature’s first and only caution appeared, action resumed with Reutzel still in command of the field over Macedo and Cole Duncan. Periods of heavy traffic came into play once again with less than ten circuits remaining thus allowing Macedo to close the gap once more. Although Macedo made a tremendous effort to track down Reutzel, the former ASCS national champion was just as strong, if not stronger in traffic. “The top of the speedway was pretty dominant tonight. You were able to carry a lot of momentum up there,” Macedo explained. “I kept trying to get closer in traffic, but (Aaron Reutzel) was really good, too. He made good, consistent laps.” “There were a couple of guys out there that made things tricky; bottom to top then back to the bottom,” Reutzel said. “They were making me a little nervous. I really didn’t know which way to go, but luckily we got through them without getting into any trouble.” The finish:Feature (25 laps): 1. 87-Aaron Reutzel [2]; 2. 3G-Carson Macedo [1]; 3. 70-Dave Blaney [8]; 4. 13-Paul McMahan [3]; 5. 10H-Chad Kemenah [7]; 6. 22C-Cole Duncan [4]; 7. 81-Lee Jacobs [19]; 8. 49X-Tim Shaffer [5]; 9. 4-Parker Price-Miller [9]; 10. 3-Jac Haudenschild [14]; 11. 11-Gary Taylor [13]; 12. 14-Tony Stewart [6]; 13. 98-Carl Bowser [17]; 14. 42-Sye Lynch [12]; 15. 7K-Cale Conley [22]; 16. 33-Brent Matus [18]; 17. 22-Brandon Spithaler [11]; 18. 1R-Gale Ruth Sr. [20]; 19. 35-Tyler Esh [10]; 20. 13M-Brandon Matus [16]; 21. 51-John Garvin [21]; 22. 40-George Hobaugh [15] Lap Leaders: Aaron Reutzel (1-25) Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/reutzel-does-it-again-with-all-stars/

‘The Madman’ Banks $10,000 Jackson Prize Kerry Madsen defended the home turf on Friday night when he earned his eighth career Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 feature victory during only the third-ever visit by the series to Jackson Motorplex. Madsen pilots the Muddy sponsored Big Game Motorsports sprint car owned by Tod Quiring, who also owns the recently reconfigured four-tenths-mile oval. However, there wasn’t much of an advantage for Madsen, who entered the night with only one top five in four starts at Jackson Motorplex this season. That didn’t faze Madsen, who bested 45 other competitors during qualifying to open Tony Stewart Night presented by ABDO, Eick & Meyers. Brian Brown, Sammy Swindell, Carson Macedo, Paul McMahan and Terry McCarl each won a heat race before Chad Kemenah and Josh Baughman each claimed a dash. Cale Conley came out on top of the C Main and Tony Stewart was victorious in the B Main, setting the stage for the 26-car, 35-lap A Main that paid $10,000 to win. Madsen, who started fourth, was a man on a mission as he took the lead just before the midpoint of the race and pulled away to his first All Star triumph since February 2017. “It feels good to put a night like tonight together and win in front of all of our home fans and sponsors,” Madsen said. “It was a fun race there toward the middle, but we were able to get away from those guys and get the lead before the track got real narrow. This is a great way to start the weekend. I’m very proud to be a part of this team and happy for everyone involved.” Aaron Reutzel advanced from eighth to second place with Kemenah third, Dave Blaney fourth and Macedo, who is the All Star point leader, rounding out the top five. The Heartland Steel RaceSaver sprint cars presented by Wyffels Hybrids was also in action on Friday evening at Jackson Motorplex, where Dusty Ballenger captured his second triumph of the season after starting the 20-lap A Main on the inside of the fourth row. The finish:A Feature (35 Laps): 1. 2M-Kerry Madsen (4); 2. 87-Aaron Reutzel (8); 3. 10H-Chad Kemenah (1); 4. 70-Dave Blaney (3); 5. 3G-Carson Macedo (9); 6. 59-Sammy Swindell (10); 7. 13-Paul McMahan (7); 8. 83-Cory Eliason (5); 9. 17B-Josh Baughman (2); 10. 4-Parker Price-Miller (13); 11. 24-Terry McCarl (11); 12. 21-Brian Brown (6); 13. 26-Joey Saldana (18); 14. 24R-Rico Abreu (16); 15. 11-Ryan Smith (26); 16. 35V-Jamie Veal (23); 17. 14-Tony Stewart (21); 18. 09-Matt Juhl (17); 19. 55-Brooke Tatnell (14); 20. 2KS-Austin McCarl (22); 21. 29-Willie Croft (15); 22. 3-Jac Haudenschild (25); 23. Madsen Stops Swindell At Knoxville
Kerry Madsen took home $5,000 for his charge from the seventh row to victory Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. It was the series’ first appearance at Knoxville since 2011. With 56 cars in the field, Madsen earned his 20th career victory at the famous half-mile oval aboard the Tod Quiring No. 2m. The feature for the All Stars got off to a rough start, when a slow pace on the parade lap saw cars stacking up. Austin McCarl got the worst end of the situation, and ended up spinning to a stop with top wing damage. Once the 25-lap event was green, Matt Juhl took the point ahead of Terry McCarl, Brooke Tatnell, Lynton Jeffrey and Carson Macedo. Sammy Swindell made an early move from sixth to fourth early, before Trey Starks found himself upside down in turn one with three laps in the books. The restart saw Juhl leading Terry McCarl, Tatnell, Swindell and Chad Kemenah. Swindell would gain third when the green fell. Juhl and McCarl separated themselves a bit from the pack, but on the twelfth lap, the leader slowed and exited with a driveline issue. McCarl assumed the lead by a healthy margin. Disaster struck with 14 laps down, however. McCarl jumped the turn one cushion and flipped hard into turn two. Swindell assumed the lead ahead of Kemenah, Tatnell, Kerry Madsen (up from 13th) and Paul McMahan. Tatnell moved into second on the restart, but Madsen was on the move, and slid from fourth to second on lap 16. A great race for the lead developed with Swindell and Madsen swapping the point twice. Madsen would finally lead on lap 20. A final caution came out for Macedo, who blew his right-rear tire with three to go. On that restart, Sam Hafertepe Jr. had issues and spun. Madsen would pull away to win his second All Star show in as many nights over Swindell, Kemenah, Brian Brown and Tatnell. McMahan set quick time. “He will not go away, will he?” said Madsen of Swindell. “He’s an absolute legend and one of my heroes growing up. I can’t believe he’s still going. Everyone asks what’s been wrong with us.We’ve actually been quick, but we haven’t caught many breaks. Last night (at Jackson Motorplex in Minnesota) was a great night, and Guy Forbrook has been working hard. That thing was a rocket ship tonight. Obviously, to win a race like this you have to have a great race car. This is a good time to get good.” “We weren’t in this car until Thursday night, and we’ve had some things to work on,” said Swindell of his Thone Motorsports No. 59. “Our dashes we seem to back up, but we seem to get a lot better for the main. That was a heck of a start on the first lap. We were able to get by Brown there on the berm. We were able to get to fourth right away There’s a few things we struggled with towards the end, but it’s a heck of a start with this team. At my age, we’re not supposed to be doing this, but we’re proving them wrong every night.” “I think we got better in the long runs,” said Kemenah. “I messed up on the one restart. We’ve kind of struggled all year long, so this deal here can give us some momentum coming into a pretty important week coming up here. The last few races we’ve been getting better, and we’ll just keep plugging away.” Clint Garner topped a 44-car field in the 360 class. The finish:Feature (25 laps): 1. Kerry Madsen (13); 2. Sammy Swindell Is 34 Raceway All Star Sammy Swindell is 62 years old and still winning. Exactly one year after earning his last Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 victory in West Lebanon, N.Y., Sammy Swindell won again Sunday night at 34 Raceway. For Swindell, the All Star victory bumps his career total to 27 with the Series, forced to outduel Cory Eliason during the later stages of the 30-lap program to do so. Eliason held on to finish second with the All Stars to earn a first podium finish with the series, followed by Carson Macedo, Cale Conley and Kerry Madsen. “I think I’m the oldest person to ever win one of these races,” said the driver of the Thones Utility Construction No. 59 sprint car. “We pulled this car out of the trailer tonight and didn’t touch a bolt on it. We won one now. We’ll work to improve from here.” Sammy Swindell’s march to the front took patience and persistence. Starting from the outside of row two, Swindell completed the first eight circuits in the exact same position as he started. Traffic came into play quickly around the three-eighths-mile, high banked oval which allowed Swindell to close the gap on the top three. Utilizing lapped cars, the former World of Outlaws champion was able to battle by Jackson and Knoxville winnervKerry Madsen, to take the third spot officially on lap nine. Just one circuit later, the main event’s first caution appeared forcing the field to mold back together. It was not until when caution flags reappeared that Swindell was able to make a bid for the second spot, ultimately driving by the familiar No. 7k of Cale Conley as the pair raced down the backstretch on lap 17. Halting Swindell’s obvious momentum in traffic, caution flags reappeared on lap 18, once again forcing the field to bunch back together. Now on the tailtank of the Roth Motorsports entry of Cory Eliason, green-flag conditions returned with Swindell now in hot pursuit of the top spot. The pair raced one-two for the next eight circuits in clear air, but traffic came into the picture soon thereafter. As Eliason reached the tail of the field to complete lap 26, Swindell made his move, actually peeking underneath the No. 83 as the pair battled into turn one. A drag race down the back straightaway resulted in Swindell’s favor, taking the lead officially with a slider between turns three and four on lap 27. Although one last caution appeared with two circuits remaining setting up a green-white-checkered restart, Swindell was untouchable, sailing off to score the All Star victory by 1.25 seconds. “We were kinda tight at the beginning, so as the laps continued to go down, the car was getting better,” Swindell continued. “We still have a few kinks that we need to work out.” The finish:Feature (30 Laps): 1. 59-Sammy Swindell [4]; 2. 83-Cory Eliason [2]; 3. 3G-Carson Macedo [9]; 4. 7K-Cale Conley [1]; 5. 2M-Kerry Madsen [3]; 6. 87-Aaron Reutzel [5]; 7. 26-Joey Saldana [7]; 8. 4-Parker Price-Miller [12]; 9. 24-Rico Abreu [13]; 10. 2KS-Austin McCarl [6]; 11. 14-Tony Stewart [18]; 12. 39-Spencer Bayston [11]; 13. 3-Jac Haudenschild [22]; 14. 13-Paul McMahan [14]; 15. 9X-Paul Nienhiser [23]; 16. 22-Brandon Spithaler [16]; 17. 29-Willie Croft [17]; 18. 25-Jake Blackhurst [10]; 19. 35V-Jamie Veal [15]; 20. 11-Ryan Smith [21]; 21. 98-Carl Bowser [8]; 22. 10H-Chad Kemenah [24]; 23. 70-Dave Blaney [20]; 24. 3K-Tim Kaeding [19] Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/sammy-swindell-34-raceway-star/

Zearfoss Replaces Price-Miller At Destiny Destiny Motorsports has parted ways with driver Parker-Price Miller and hired Jonestown, Pa., driver Brock Zearfoss to drive the No. 4 sprint car for the remainder of the year. “We wish Parker Price-Miller nothing but the best in his future endeavors, and we are looking forward to seeing what Brock Zearfoss can do for Destiny Motorsports,” team owner Rick Rogers said. “It is a huge point in the season, and we are looking forward to seeing what the team can do.” Destiny Motorsports has competed full-time this year with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions, where Price-Miller is currently seventh in the series standings. The team has also raced part-time with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and competed during most of Pennsylvania Speedweek. The team is planning to focus on the Knoxville Nationals before returning to close out the season on with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. “I am really excited for the opportunity Rick and Barb Rogers presented me,” Zearfoss said. “Shane Bowers, Kevin Osmolski, and Tyler Rhey are some of the best guys in the pits, and I am confident it wont take long to mesh with them and get some good finishes.” Zearfoss has scored two victories so far this year, with one win each coming at Williams Grove Speedway and Port Royal Speedway. “We are looking forward to the future and we are eager to get going,” Rogers added. “Our guys continue to work hard for us, and our partners continue to back us and we certainly appreciate them all.” Source: speedsport.com/sprints-midgets/other-sprint-cars/zearfoss-replaces-price-miller-destiny/
