That is a fairly serious injury he has. I don't look at as good news. Thoracic spine fractures can fuck you up permanently.
I am very worried.

Doctors are taking a wait and see attitude. They don't know the severity of the injury. They don't know if his nerves will heal properly and that is what is scary about this. Just scared for him.

No one has commented on his ability to move his extremities. To me that is scary.

No one is going to know anything concerning Robert for some time...

This does not sound good. The referenced company deals with paralysis...

This does not sound good. The referenced company deals with paralysis... But Sam is paralyzed so I mean....ok maybe not. Robert being paralyzed has crossed my mind. If positive info was coming, I think we may heard it by now. However, Robert undoubtedly has a long road ahead of him, regardless.

For me, Wickens' crash brought to mind Kenny Brack's horrific crash at Texas in 2003. No question the catch fencing is nasty stuff...

So, it appears that Robert's helmet and Hans device held up well.

I don't believe any previous news releases had said that his breathing was being mechanically assisted!

Possibly related to the bruised lung.

I can't believe I am agreeing with Frappo on this one.

It's sad that online mag has become impossible to read with the rolling ads. The text keeps jumping up and down, the paragraph I'm trying to read disappears. I also agree with Graham on this one.

So, Massa wants to go there. Someone should remind him which series it was that had only a local yellow while a crane was literally right off the race track during a monsoon and the end result was a driver crashing into the crane. Racing is dangerous and safety should always be evolving, but to say Indycar is far behind is plain ignorant.

I wish the halo could be used on ovals. I was really impressed how it protected LeClerc at Spa Sunday. The windscreen, I don't think it can protect a driver any better than the halo in the type of crash I saw at Spa.
